Sledgehammer updates

Ok well this was the car's first show (unfinished) but we are getting closer. Should be done by March or Very early April of this year. Not a lot of good photos, but you can see the new DSE billet hinges a bit better. Those things are rock solid, and completely kill any side to side movement the hood once had with normal hinges.

Looking good. A work in progress that still draws people with primer !! :)

syborg tt 02-14-2006 09:04 AM

looks very nice - can't wait to see finished pics

mazspeed 02-14-2006 01:05 PM

Yeah I can't wait either. As we speak it's being painted FINALLY!! Yeah the hinges were a hit, everyone wanted to know where to get them.

awr68 02-16-2006 12:06 AM

Looks good! What are you doing for a fuel tank...filler location???

mazspeed 02-16-2006 12:39 AM

Thanks Tony. It's a Rick's stainless fuel tank, and the filler neck is being redone for the bend. The 67 bends a little more then the 69 does at the same location, so they have to weld a new piece on there to make that sharp transition. The filler location is the same as a 69 as the license plate frame folds back as it does on the 69. I wanted a cleaner look back there.

mazspeed 03-19-2006 02:37 PM

Some new shots from yesterday. The body is done finally, and now the interior and stance of the car needs to be played with and completed. The rear sits way too high. I'm also looking at other engine options. New front wheels were ordered with a different offset and wider.

looks VERY nice with paint!
What kinda tires? They look just like my eagle F1's, don't see those much.
Stupid question, what's the thing on the firewall where the wiper motor should be?

Sales@Dutchboys 03-19-2006 04:09 PM

Looks good! keep us updated!

jonny51 03-19-2006 04:24 PM

Looking good, what engine options are you looking at?

mazspeed 03-19-2006 04:28 PM

Hey guys thanks. The wiper motor is the lay down type from DSE. Yes those are F1 tires, but will switch to Toyo Proxy R's when I burn these off.

That's a very good option for me. Frank at Prodigy customs may set me up with those very things if I went with a bosted motor. How much for the kit? What does it come with? You can e-mail me privately if you like.

jonny51 03-19-2006 08:36 PM

I sent you a PM.

Looks fantastic.

trapin 03-20-2006 10:50 AM

The car looks great. I always like when people bring their "work in progress" to car shows. It's neat to see the progress of the build before it's finished. I think Stielow had the Mule at Woodward about a year before it was finished.

On a side note, I want to ask you about the Rhino Liner. How did you apply that? Did you spray it or roll it on? If so...where did you pick up the product and the device to apply it? Thanks.

Awesome car. '67's and '68's RULE!!! :D

buickfunnycar.com 03-20-2006 06:39 PM

Sweet...can't wait to see it finished!

mazspeed 03-20-2006 09:06 PM

Thanks guys. The rhino liner was sprayed on by the company at their location.

McssGmachine 03-20-2006 11:02 PM
