1967 Nova is On Track!!!
I have started my project again, and I have decided on a new route.
I know this is similar to Project Getaway but I have done almost all of the work. They had some awesome ideas though!!! Chassisworks front clip- altered the ride height so the car sits 2.5" lower Chassisworks canted 4-bar Custom roll cage and sheetmetal Turnkey Engines LS3 T56 6 speed Luxury ID wheels and Nitto INVO tires-19x12 with 345/30R19 18x8 with 225/45R18 Some of these pics are hard to see. I am not sure why some of them are clear and some are not. The next updates will be the stretching of the rear wheel openings (not sure how much I am going yet???) and the roll cage followed by the sheetmetal Where it started http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/6b34f559.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/18b1f08d.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/cd293234.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/9cefb174.jpg All of the undercoating http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/ade2272b.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/7a61341a.jpg Now its clean http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/DSC00133.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/DSC00132.jpg You can see where the clip was raised in the car http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/DSC00334.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...emy99h/028.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...emy99h/027.jpg Rear clip welded into place http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...emy99h/026.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/DSC00330.jpg This is where the rear clip was tied into the frame http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/DSC00328.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...h/DSC00332.jpg |
Here is the car at ride height. The front rocker is 5" and the rear is 5.75." I will have a little room to play with the adjustability of the rear shock mounts.
Any suggestions on how much rake? http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...emy99h/012.jpg |
Very,Very Cool.

I have to ask -- tell me about your frame table... I will be looking to build one at some point and just like to hear the reasoning behind how people built theirs and the pros/cons etc.. |
Quote:
The table needs to be as solid as possible where there is no deflection. The more braces in the center the better. If i had to do it again, I would have the 15" on the bottom still, but put the 8" on top of the 15" every couple of feet. Then plate the top. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. |
Luv-it !
Jeremy,,Dude, You have gone this far with your skills don't be afraid to carry it past the point of no return,!! When I seen Eddie's car in super chevy I went to hunting a candidate, Sold my 66 Vette, paid off the house, and now I'mbuilding it at a snails pace,, "You Can Do It", cut it the way the General should have to begin with !!

Look's real good.this thing is going to have an awesome stance.

I agree it looks great. Nice project.

Thanks! Its getting there.
Ordered a custom gas tank from Rick's Stainless Tanks yesterday! They were really helpful and great to work with. It will be here in about 4 weeks. |
Not much of an update, but thought I would share. Chuck Church of Church Boys Racing really helped me out with these headers. Stainless Works built these headers. They turned out really nice!!!

Very cool

A little work in the past couple of weeks.
Headers are in and the sheetmetal fits them nicely underneath. Exhaust is next in line. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/001-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/009-2.jpg Transmission crossmember is fit and welded in. The exhaust will route through the crossmember. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/007-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/010-3.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/011-3.jpg The wheel tubs are halfway in. The right one is clecoed in. Have to finish welding it and fitting it around the existing sheetmetal. A lot of work goes into the fitting. The quarter windows will still function properly. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/002-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/005-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...emy99h/013.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/004-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/005-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/006-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/008-2.jpg More updates soon.....I hope. |

It's really humid here http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/006-3.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/007-3.jpg This is the LR quarter and trunk drop off. This was taken facing the rear of the car. Boxed in the area where the rear bumper mounts http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/008-3.jpg Exhaust...The mufflers were shipped out Friday and should have them tomorrow. Got the Stainless Works merge collectors welded on and everythng in place http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/009-3.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/010-4.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...emy99h/014.jpg Custom exhaust tips routed through the rockers http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/013-1.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/012-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/011-4.jpg My first thoughts on the exhaust tips were to cut them off and round them to the radius of the rocker. But, they actually look good how they sit in the pics. Any suggestions? |
Start of the custom dash.

Finished the exhaust completely...except for the tips. I am not sure if I want the tips cut flush with the rocker or hang out a little like in the pic. Any suggestions???
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/012-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/011-4.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/005-4.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/004-4.jpg Here is a sneak peek of the pedals. I had them laser cut at a sheetmetal shop, then broke and fit them. They mount just like the original pedals. They are not finished yet. Still a few things to touch up before they are finished. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/001-4.jpg |

I have a few updates. I took these with my phone a few weeks ago. I have quite a few more, but I left my camera at the shop.
Here is a top view of the exhaust mounts. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/010-5.jpg Gas tank is mounted (Ricks Stainless Tanks did an excellent job!) http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/009-4.jpg Fuel door welded up http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/008-4.jpg Filller neck in trunk http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/007-4.jpg I will upload the other pics on Monday when I get my camera. All of the sheetmetal is finished and welded into place, exhaust is finished (except the tips), the clutch and brake pedals are finished, and most of the cage is mocked up. Still haven't finished the dash yet (still brainstorming on how to mount the dvd, navi). Now we are mounting the core support, radiator, and condensor. I will have pics of this in the next week or so. |
Its looking good!
|
Here are some more pics. I still have more that I need to upload, just not enough time in the day. I will get to them in a few days.
Most of these are of the sheetmetal welded into place. Sorry for the surface rust!!! I am ready to clean all of the sheetmetal... http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/014-1.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/013-2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/012-3.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/011-5.jpg This is looking towards the rear of the car. Where the trunk ties into the LR quarter, and also boxed in where the rear bumper mounts. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/010-6.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/009-5.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/007-5.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/006-5.jpg A few from the start of the cage. It will mostly be hidden when looking from the outside of the car. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/002-5.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/001-5.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/004-5.jpg |
Here are a few of the front clip being lowered so the core support, bumper mounts, and fenders will be in the stock position.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/015-1.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/016-1.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...y99h/017-1.jpg |
Finally...The dash is finished!!! The dvd/navi and the A/C controls are in. It is ready to weld back into the car.
