New video of the DC/Kalis Camaro playing around.
There is a bit of foul language in the song.... but its pretty cool. The song is a friend of mine. Yelawolf. He's a huge fan of muscle cars... Chevy to be specific.
enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzdKe...layer_embedded |
Cool! Sounds like that Eminem dude singing.

Post up a vid of a sub 1:24 lap around Gratten and Ill take it all back

Whatever... Grattan is 8 miles from my MI house. I run high 1:20's in my shifter Kart. Never ran it in the camaro though. It has too much power for that track. I would normally go down to Gingerman. Faster track. But here we go with the whole track crap again... Where's your video's? Where's your car? Let me see the video of YOU doing sub 1:24 around Grattan in a street car!! Im guessing that there is no video of that? |
tough crowd... lol
|
Very nice
Car is killer!! Very nice video aside from the music. Had to Mute it, to get through it.
|
That car is way too nice to put on a road course. I'd hate to see that sweet looking front spoiler get damaged.
Although I've seen Todd Akes car when we were at Buttonwillow last September and that paint job is flawless. Not to mention a pretty sweet looking interior also and he beats on that thing on the road courses and at the auto-x's. |

I daily or by daily drive my car. So no need to worry about the front getting messed up. I built it with a couple friends too. Learned how to weld on it. Did the majority of the metal work. Including the front spoiler. Anyway.... Where is that video of your car?? And Todds car would take Gratten better than mine.... Not sub 1:24 though. My car has nearly double the power as Todd's. So it would just be sideways the whole time. Would make for a lot of fun and good video though. Todd's is a couple hundred lbs lighter as well. |
First off, I'm confused. Are you Josh or Josh's friend?
Really like that front spoiler(actually the whole car is sweet)but did you see the pics of Todd's spoiler after his dad got a hold of it at an auto-X. Just sayin', hate to see that happen to yours. I've got some vid floating around on one of these threads running at Buttonwillow after making a few changes on the car but nothing special. Yeah, I was running in open(advanced)class and past a Vette, Porsche, and a few others but the changes I made created a push and I could have been way faster. Besides that I was up for 20 hours before the track day and only got 4 hours sleep so I was running on fumes. Totally different car from the DC/Khalis though. My big thing is to keep it old school with stock sub and leaf springs but it is also a dedicated track car. Currently working on tuning the front to where it was before, taking another 40 lbs off with rear lexan and aluminum deck lid plus another little change that I will post on my build thread when the time is right. Car weights in at 3080 right now. http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/a...0/VP__0160.jpg http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/a...0/VP__1316.jpg http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/a...VP__0079-1.jpg |
How did I get dragged into this deal. It ain't how much power you have, it's how much you can use. :D
Josh's car has sick power. My biggest concern would be heat on a road course with those windmills. |
Quote:
Power is great down the straights but you need to know how to use it in the corners. Heat is a huge concern. If you could keep the car cool with all that power more power to you. |
I figured you would be near Gratten . The Busstop would ko your rockers .
I did a pair of 1:25s on two wheels with an 01 gixer 750 back in 03 or 04 Love that track . Any track video is better than a couple dounuts :unibrow: My car is in pieces , hope to make Gingerman April 27 th Its just a lowbuck Vette, First gen motor, TKO500 . Just found a Dana 44 to replace the d36 I broke . Track Junky , Dont I know you from LABusas ? |

I'm on the west coast in NorCAL |
I think LA traffic is a much better test for heat issues than doing a couple of laps on the track. Josh's car is 100% driver but I will volunteer to run it on the track any day!
|
Definitely have to disagree. Road racing makes the most heat by a country mile. 15-20 minutes of 4-7000 rpm at near or full power. Definitely not saying the car can't handle it, but it better have a HUGE oil cooler.

Well it's not a track car. It's a street car. It won't make super fast lap times.... But like I said.... It wasn't built for that. All steel. All glass, power windows, ect. And for what I use the car for.... The power is extremely useable.
|
I agree Josh. It seems that folks think somebody's elses car should meet their ideal car expectations. I see it all the time around here. I for one think your car could kick some serious ass in the RTTC type venues as they have short road course events. I know your desires and your car is perfectly executed except for them seats. Boys got to breath. :D
|
Yeah as of late to be a pro-touring car you HAVE to race it! Lol
|

But man.... I LOOOOOVE my seats. What could you possibly dislike about the Cobra Missano's with the Carbon Fiber backs?? lol. Maybe a bit over priced... but i dig em. After a month long nightmare on a "direct swap" clutch.... that ended up needing 3 weeks of R@D... i now have a McLoud twin disc in there. She's feeling pretty good now! I think im going to bring her to Fontana drag strip and see what she runs. I have to put a drive shaft loop on her though. My goal is to get kicked out for not having a shoot on it!! |

I've had my car for 17 years now. I remember when I used to take mine into empty commercial area parking lots on weekends and beat the hell out of it. Unfortunately for my pocket book that wasn't enough and eventually it became a dedicated track car. My car has a $3500 paint job for a reason....... I know its going to need to be painted again some day from the track abuse. Love the car man, enjoy. |

PT cars dont have full cages, race seats, harnesses, and fuel cells and are meant to be comfortable and have good gas mileage for the long hauls. Race cars have all the above and are purpose built. As of late we are seeing more and more of them. Probably because the original folk that started with a pt car and took it to the track realized they were having more fun on the track. Hence the added safety equipment. |
Your a hell of alot skinnier than me so I felt like they pinched my legs together. I'll be interested to hear what you run at Fontana. Are you going to run slicks?
|
Cool vid Josh... more action than most are willing to do with their car on cam. And man there's some strong opinions of the music on this site and even more on that other site. Wow, people need to chill.

Your AVERAGE track day is 4-5 sessions of 20 minutes each at WOT throttle. And that's not a race, that's just an open track day anyone can attend all over the country with a rental car or their race car. |
