Aparently we all can, since if any one of us were to sell out cars we would take it in the shorts.

Looks like 8-10% plus a timeslot fee....

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/consign/faq.asp#4

"WHAT DOES IT COST TO SELL MY CAR?
To sell a vehicle at Barrett-Jackson, the Consignor is responsible for an entry fee as well as a Seller's commission of 8% of the hammer price for No Reserve consignments or 10% of the hammer price for Reserve consignments. The entry fee is determined by day and time of your Lot entry and includes tent space. Payment of fees without a signed contract does not constitute a consignment agreement."

I'm just curious why it's being sold. It would be lifetime bragging rights for me.:unibrow:

Seems like most folks who can afford that level of a car make the show curcuit with it and once it becomes "old", they sell and start a new project.

Heck, come to think of it, I think even us regular guys do that...:_paranoid

Jeff-

jjarky 01-15-2012 10:20 PM

Any guesses on what it will sell for?

I think the car turned out way too nice for the owner from what I remember hearing. Some just like building cars as well. It has been for sale almost since it came off the show circuit. I bet it goes for nowhere near build cost and based upon the last couple high end pt cars sold, my guess high 100's like the rest $150k-$175k

tmadden 01-18-2012 12:55 PM

What day and time slot did it get?

redfire69 01-18-2012 02:00 PM

Looks like saturday prime time after 5pm local.

Poteet's Miller Hauler Special brought same $250k and had just as much in the build as Razor. Sad thing is probably never see ever car again.

96z28ss 01-23-2012 10:11 AM

I think 245k was good money for the car, regardless of cost of building.
How many protouring cars bring that type of money?

Agreed, That's a home run in my book for a 3 year old car.

Vegas69 01-23-2012 12:34 PM

That's big money for any car. Especially a custom.

Stuart Adams 01-23-2012 03:56 PM

You guys remember Bobs Cuda that fetched 550K or so at BJ a few years ago. He drove it hard and broke some things and still sold for big bucks.

they are completely different cars. They attracted different buyers. It was also a much different economy.

Stuart Adams 01-23-2012 06:19 PM

Not comparing cars, other than the price difference between SMOY cars.

I highly doubt someone capable of funding a build like that (1) does it for a profit, and (2) is surprised when he doesn't break even.

It obviously was not a spec build.
