73CPCAMARO 01-15-2012 03:45 PM

How many runs will we get at the autocross and road course? Is there a cap on the entries? How many?
Thanks,
Brian

Bryce 01-15-2012 05:46 PM

I only have lap belts; can I autocross all day? no road course.

Vegas69 01-15-2012 06:09 PM

Rules are posted on their site.

Sorry for any confusion with my previous post, I read the rules, I do not have a 3pt seat belt so I cannot compete on the road course. I would like to know if I can autocross all day.

Vegas69 01-15-2012 07:04 PM

If it's not specifically addresssed in the rules, I lean towards yes. I'm sure Bill will chime in soon.

hotrod69camaro 01-16-2012 08:47 AM

Rules

I understood it as you would be able to "compete" in all events, but the group without the added saftey devices would run the road course with some adde chicanes to slow things down.

Bill Howell 01-17-2012 04:57 PM

Hey guys. Registration has been opened for two days and we are almost full. I swear, I think we could fill a seven day event at El Toro. If you miss this event, don't worry, we will have another one a little further north, announcement soon!

Lap belt only will be allowed to run, just at a reduced speed on the roadcourse. However, to answer the question, yes, you could autocross all day if you like.

Bill Howell 01-17-2012 05:00 PM

Jody, yes, Jessica is my oldest daughter. She is helping out now that we have gone nationwide...haha

Entries are limited to 70 cars per day. However, we do have better timing for the road course now, so more cars at a time and less down time timing everyone. I hate to guess or estimate runs, but I know everyone ran all the autocross laps they could stand last year and with the new timing equipment this year, I am hoping the road course will be the same.

Cris@JCG 01-17-2012 05:42 PM

Just registered Blu Balz for this event! Gonna have a blast watching it go down the track!! The owner might now be able to make it down to the event.. so I might have to drive it! Yeah right!

73CPCAMARO 01-19-2012 07:51 PM

I registered for both days. This is going to be fun! :D

mdprovee 01-20-2012 11:28 AM

Sent my money out yesterday. I'll be there for both days.

CRCRFT78 01-20-2012 12:21 PM

Are spectators allowed? What about volunteers? I'm on my phone trying to read the site but its not possible so I had to ask.

6D9 01-20-2012 09:21 PM

I would also like to come watch and hang out.

Jr 02-22-2012 06:55 PM

What?!?! You just want to come bug me some more???

I can't answer the question -- I just wanted to bust your chops.

Might post up and ask if you can be "crew" for someone!

Flash68 02-22-2012 09:04 PM

I'm sure you guys are welcome. There were plenty of people last year there hanging out and watching.

Ron in SoCal 02-22-2012 09:14 PM

I think I saw a $5 'car show' spectator charge on PT. I'll look for the link and post it up ...

I figured you would get lonely behind the timing table at the auto-x.

That would be fine. I only have a few hours to pop in and out this year. I really want to see dse mustang in person.

hotrod69camaro 02-23-2012 06:36 AM

Dse

DSE is not going to be at RTTC this year.

Vegas69 02-23-2012 07:10 AM

Guess that means I'm moving up two spots. :D

Better yet -- bring the right tires.

Vegas69 02-23-2012 07:23 AM

Good call Stuart.

Happy just putting around in exibition.

GregWeld 02-23-2012 07:58 AM

The new RFID system worked really well for the road course at RTTA... Can't get much simpler than that from what I saw.

Todd.... I'm bringing the Mustang down -- with Hosier R6's... but WTH... it doesn't qualify as a street car regardless....

Matt@BOS 02-23-2012 07:58 AM

What, DSE isn't going? Todd is running in exhibition? Guess I'm moving up three spots :D

Matt

Mike, where did you get your info?

hotrod69camaro 02-23-2012 10:36 AM

I was on the phone with them about some parts and possibly picking them up when they come out for RTTC. I see in the recent days they have changed their mind. I'm glad to see they are coming out for it. Even though I move down a couple spots with them running. Still glad DSE will attend. And I stand corrected.

Mike, the only reason I knew was because Stephen told me yesterday. :D

I am seriously considering flying down to Bakersfield and then hitching a ride down to this event.
Besides the fact it would be nice to meet all of you guys, is it worth my time as a spectator?
Are you allowed to ride along with some of the competitors?

Matt@BOS 02-24-2012 08:45 AM

Kevin, Orange County Race Craft that hosts the event stipulated that passengers aren't allowed on the road course, unless an instructor is giving them a ride. The autocross is a completely different story. You could stand in the staging lane and bum rides off of people all day long!
