RTTC Taco Party courtesy of JCG!!!

We are on for the annual get together at my place on Saturday night after the event---I will be handing out directions that Saturday at the event.

Chris called me and asked if he could sponsor the taco cart this year---since it ain't cheap, I was very amazed at the offer---Chris said that since we've had so much going on, he figured it was going to be a push to have it, he wanted to do this as a celebration/thanks for Cassie being well and for us opening up the house! Many thanks to Chris for such a generous offer--of which I accepted! He also gets to park Blu Ballz in the driveway that evening--LOL.

Looking forward to seeing everyone---this has always been a great time--and I am not going to give into the peer pressure this year and chug two party cups of Apple Pie---even though it did feel good to rub my head.

Doug

LUACE 01-21-2012 12:34 PM

That's very cool of Chris to do that!

Matt@BOS 01-21-2012 01:03 PM

I'm curious... In addition to getting to park Blue Balz in the driveway, is Cris excused from having to carry you inside this year?

Matt

Vegas69 01-21-2012 01:13 PM

Chris, I don't want any damn Taco Bell. :D

intocarss 01-21-2012 03:15 PM

What is RTTC??

mpozziCPL 01-21-2012 04:16 PM

After that Saturday night, you'll be asking "What the hell did I drink and how come everyone says it's Apple Pie."

And I like Taco Bell ...

Cheers,
Mary P.

cmraman 01-21-2012 09:57 PM

That's very cool. I'm hoping to get a chance to come this year.

kyle_newman 01-22-2012 08:37 AM

AWESOME!!!!! I cant wait for this (hahahhhahaha this is Doug braking in to un- controllable laughter for no reason and rubbing his head because "it feels so good") I really look forward to this and it was a high-light of last years RTTC for me! Thanks Doug, Cassie, and Chris for keeping this a tradition!

coolwelder62 01-22-2012 08:40 AM

Does Cris know anything about Taco's or how they are made.:D

Cris@JCG 01-22-2012 08:54 AM

Matt- I don't think Doug remember's much about that night!

Cris@JCG 01-22-2012 09:01 AM

Starting this year for Doug & Cassie was a rough one.. I knew it was not gonna be easy for Doug to host this party this year, so I jumped in & helped where ever I could.. I think it is awesome that they open their house to us so that we can all hang out, eat, & drink Apple Pie.. (Doug your suppose to sip on it.. not take shot's of it)..

Todd, it will be same taco guy as the last two years---

Some asked what is RTTC----stands for Run to the Coast---it's an actual racing event at the El Toro Marine base--if you live in So Cal, you should come to it and bring your car if you have one---

D

Rod P 01-22-2012 02:45 PM

sounds like fun again Doug and Im sure we will be on time as long as newman doesn't run over any more pliers on the freeway again

I was just giving Chris a little ribbing...

GregWeld 01-22-2012 03:27 PM

As long as it's going to cost Cris a fortune -- I'm going to eat as many tacos as I can...

I will also offer to sniff the apple pie - as in the past - to insure that it is, in fact, fit to drink...

Thanks to all for making this possible - it is one of the best events for LAT G guys in the UNIVERSE! :woot:

Track Junky 01-22-2012 06:22 PM

I didn't figure apple pie was a drink. I thought Doug was actually chugging a real apple pie out of a cup.

LM7_67 01-22-2012 06:58 PM

Can't wait :D  :D

ironworks 01-22-2012 08:34 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't seem to get the Sausage vs Taco party thing.... I'm guess I'm too old and too sober. :D

I'm voting with you Rich -- BBQ at Ironworks -- I'll pick up the tab on that. Might as well volunteer 'cause Rodger just put it on my bill anyway. :unibrow:

Cris@JCG 01-24-2012 08:29 PM

Ok.. Now I get it! Was wondering what the hell you were talking about..

Rich, I had to have Cris step in since I would never be able to afford all of the Bud Light required to have you stay here at the house. I stared purchasing cases about 2 months ago to prepare for you, Todd and Dave.

Good news, air mattresses this year--I upgraded--and you won't have to use the Barbie sleeping bag again, Christian's GI Joe "Cobra" one is up for grabs since he got a new "Clone Wars" model. Good news all around.

See you soon--and bring your own spare coil this year--the one on my parts wall is still leaking oil.

Rich outdrinks us 3:1 with that watery beer. Better invest in a 3rd fridge.

Air mattresses? Nah, we can all sleep fine once we lock the Snoring Monster in the storage room again. :D

CrossRamRich 01-26-2012 12:37 AM

Thank you Doug, I am so looking forward to my "man cave". As you know, awesome people need their sleep! Get them beer's cold!

Thanks Doug for inviting me last year to this event, as I had a great time. Liked it so much I decided to build my 67 Nova wagon that has been sitting for over 5 years on the side of my house. The 67 wagon project will not be ready for this event, but should have it road worthy by June. I will bring my 66 Nova wagon this year and be a spectator.
Thanks Doug for opening up your house this year again. Let me know if you need a hand with getting anything ready at the house before hand.
Christian

CRCRFT78 01-31-2012 05:19 PM

Does anyone know if RTTC is open for spectators? My cars in storage (unfinished) and I don't drink so the least I can do is stand on the sidelines and watch.

chr2002ca 02-02-2012 10:29 AM

Stopped by Doug's house last week and finally had a chance to try the famous 'Apple Pie'. Me likey. A lot. Smooth and deadly.

Cris, thanks for sponsoring the Tacos to assist with Doug's extravaganza. You da man.

My car is under 're-construction' so I'll be there to spectate and cheer people on, and that's just at the Taco Party. I'll attend RTTC also if someone will let me in. I hate climbing fences.

Doug, big props to you for once again hosting this.

How about you be my pit crew? It's pretty serious work, it involves riding around with me on the auto cross (which can be scary as you know from the various spinouts and pink hat trauma we suffered last year) and possibly switching the LR tire to the RR to balance out the treadwear from all of the massive tire spin from the 3.08 gears to the one tire. Let me know if this sounds like your kind of thing again, and you are in. That will also buy you an invite to the taco party, and Chris, you know how hard those are to come by.

I need you to come over and put a new roof on before the event---I'm so pleased you offered--the ladder is out front.

I should be good by then--slowly catching up from Cassie's down time--lots of stuff still, but slow and steady is working. Building new cabana this weekend--those winds that came through took it out--we had a couple 90 mph gusts---my neighbor Jim (Mopar guy 4 houses down) is still finding parts of it in his back yard. When it rains it pours at this house. See you guys for the fondue thing it sounds like---can't beleive I wrote that here--the last bit of dignity---gone.

Sounds like more extreme fun. I'm all in brother. Thank you for the invite. I'll bring a few extra pairs of underwear just in case. Did you get that 'Oh sh_t' handle installed on the passenger side of your car yet? If not, throw an extra bolt in that arm rest of yours please. A big one, that comes all the way out through the door skin so I know it's safe.

I just read this, and I've changed my mind. I'm out. No way I'm riding with a guy that writes such things. If you had written "See you guys for that thing where we use sticks to stab meat and cook it", then I would've been okay with that.

Mike, you should bring your car down. A good way to stretch its new legs and meet the gang. Everyone will be there. A bunch from Norcal going... and from all over the country for that matter.
