G machine cop car help

I have a 71 Dodge Coronet Police car that I plan to turn in to a corner carver. I have it sort of stock now because it was cheaper to build. I plan to modify it to look and act the part. I am looking for ideas to modernize the look of it and appreciate any help with ideas and/or art work.

Thanks guys

Hank

"Its got a cop motor, a 440 plant, cop suspension, cop shocks, cop brakes and it was built before 74 so it runs on regular gas...c'mon man, is it the new Blues mobile?"

Heck you knew it was coming. :D

You are right Payton, The Blues Mobile was a 72-73 Dodge Monaco.

Too bad you can't buy those nice huge billet rallys (except in a brushed finish or a dark center) lthat Foose used on the lime green Challenger from one of the early Overhaulin's Those are some of my favorite wheels ever. I think I have seen steel larger diameter Mopar rallys that would look really cool. I think that there should be some flat black on the car.

Ummgawa 02-20-2006 06:56 PM

I agree. Big brakes and some cool looking 18 inch Billet wheels that have the COP look to em. Then drop it in the weeds. You can spend a fortune on it and it is still a police car so go with that theme. You'd make the cover of any Freiburger mag for being different.

Just a thought.

Oh and by the way, the lighter wasn't broken, Jake lit his smoke and tossed out the lighter 'cause he did not like the car. Believe it or not there was actually a sound effect for the lighter hitting the pavement. Man I need a life. :P

Two damn good ideas  , I agree that Challenger is bad ass and I was thinking of flat black but I wasn't sure if anyone else would think it is a good idea. What do you guys think of Flat Black and Flat White piant job ? Would that be a cool look ? Those Challenger Wheels are very large Mopar billet ralley look alikes, I'm not sure if they would look right. Anyone know any wheel company that could do a mopar police wheel in 17" or 18" billet and I would powder coat them flat black.

I Thank all of you guys for these great ideas just keep them coming. Let me know anything you think would be cool on a G machine cop car. Any more ideas to modernize an old cop car .

What about the interior ? Ideas ? it has the stock full bench seat in two tone blue vinyl and the stock black rubber floor covering instead of carpet.

I need ideas for the door emblem I think some type of star with a logo or something written on it like "DONUT DODGE" or something else funny or cool.

This is an idea a nice guy over at pro touring.com did for me. You guys think I could do that with FLAT BLACK and White ?

Thanks again guys for all the help keep those ideas coming :hail:

srh3trinity 02-20-2006 11:03 PM

I agree that those wheels are too big for the look you are going for, but something in that vein, kinda like the 4th wheels on the wheelvintiques.com webpage http://207.201.148.65/pdfs/billet_002.pdf with a powdercoated dark center. I think that flat colors are really cool and also unique. Flat black above the body line and up on the roof and white below or vice versa would give you the cop feel without the blatant black fenders and quarters and white doors look. I have also been wondering what it would look like to do a flat black with a gloss black detail on top (like a gloss pinstripe on top of a thicker flat finish stripe). Somebody mentioned having a door shield that says "To protect and swerve" on it and I think that is brilliant. You could have it made on a magnet so it didn't have to be on there all of the time.

G machine cop

srh3trinity

of those wheel vintiques I like the 10th one the 101 series billet "mirage" it has more of the police car look and would be powder coated flat black.

"To Swerve in the Curves" what do you think ?

TQ patrol- Trailer Queen patrol looking out for those dreaded high buck $$$ cars that never see the outside of a trailer or garage :D

the gloss black/flatblack is a good idea I need to figure out how it would be incorporated

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/mopork/ansen.jpg

What about these wheels powdercoated black ? they are the closest to the late model Mopar Police wheels ?

Hooligan 02-21-2006 04:14 PM

Hey mopork dont forget these mopar police rally's from stockton wheel. http://www.stocktonwheel.com/wheels/mrlypol.jpg

Hooligan,

I have already tried that they require you to supply the police wheels and it is very $$$

I posted on the Budnik thread maybe they can make some 18" look a likes :hail:

The police rally Hooligan posted is my pick for the car. Those foose wheels are sooooooo sweet, but the bling factor is pretty high with them (and the price tag is a little steep).

about drawing cars

Hello to all of you. My name is George, and I'm from Bulgaria.
I like "muscle cars" and the design of those cars. Here in Bulgaria there are very few american cars and it is very hard to find a car that can be turned into a real muscle car.
I saw that mopork was asking for someone who can draw cars, as I read I'm little late with my answer, but if you want I can make some sketches. So if you like them you can use some ideas.
Excuse me if I made some mistakes but my english is not very good! :D
I've already made some cketches of Mustang and Camaro, but I'm going to poste them later.
So good luck to everyone, I'm going to visit this forum frequently, and I'll try to help as much as I can!

I've got 2-3 ideas about the exterior and this is my first idea.
the quality of the picture is very bad, byt I first shoot the scatch with camera and then load it up. Tomorrow I'm going to scan the other skeches and I hope the quality would be better.
I would like to hear your opinion on the sketch. About the colors, unfortunately you can't get good image of the front gril because of the bad quality of the picture.
But it is parallel chrome stripes, very close to each other.
You can tell me any ideas you have and you want me to put in the car exterior.

good sketch

Vectra_16v

Good sketch, I think there are too many loud colors. I want to keep a basic american police car theme but I want ideas for a more modern look.

those wheels are killer though  Thanks for all your help :hail:

My car has this light bar, can you draw a more modern Black and white type police car theme ? and I have those same stock wheels with the red stripe dodge hub caps

srh3trinity,

How about the above paint scheme with flat colors black and white with some fake type door shield ? :willy:

http://www.budnik.com/roadwheeldetai...6&pid=529&pg=1 <-- This wheel powder coated black with a polished center cover could approximate the wheels on the new charger police car.

I just thought of another way to get cop car wheels. You need an impact wrench, jack, 4 jack stands, an unoccupied police car, and some serious cajones:wow:

If you go flat black you have to put on a couple scallops and moon disc hub caps - they are way cheaper than 18's.

I think he pretty much nailed it with this. It would be really nice with flat black, and you could do it with or without the stripe going down the center of the hood (either would look good).

power bulge hood

What do you think of this 71 Charger power bulge hood ? the hood could be black and the bulge left white.
