'My Car'.....

I don't want to get into it, but lets just say I was very glad to see 2011 end and to have a fresh start with 2012! I actually started the year off right and spent New Years Day in the garge working on my car for the first time in months...litterly! I don't have a huge update, but here's what I'm working on at the moment.

But first I need to thank my close friends, you know who you are, that keep enough wind in my sail to keep me going! Thanks guys!! Last week was the 10 yr mark of this build...it's time to find the end of it! I'm very blessed to have a great network of local members/friends that are more than ready to help get it on the road...again, thanks guys!

After cleaning the garage this is what I found.

After a lot of thought and fitting it was obvious that the new quarters and the 3-piece spoiler were never going to play nice...so I went back to a one piece.

Next up was the tear down of the front sheet metal and suspension so I can weld on the UCA gussets. Mine was one of the last Speedtech frames that shipped before they started adding the gussets.

That's it for now! The frame and gussets are ready for me, so I better go make some sparks! :unibrow:

Lets hope the updates are a lot more frequent now!! :lateral:

Good to see the project up and running....

But i must have missed something. Last i knew the car was painted, together, ect. Where is the thread or post so i can catch up real quick?

awr68 02-07-2012 04:50 PM

Josh, the car was never really 'together'...think body shop roller just assembled enough to ship home.

I felt that the gussets needed to be installed on the frame so I tore it down to do so. I had to nut and bolt the suspension anyways so it wasn't really that big of a deal to demo it all to do the needed welding and paint work on the frame.

Hey Tony I have come over here on Lateral-G several times looking for progress updates on your car. I'm glad to see you're working on it and hope nothing serious happened to keep you from it until now!?! Regardless, progress is ALWAYS good! Keep the pics coming and let me know if you ever need moral support!
