My 63 vette has been going through a very long frame off restoration. It just came back from the exhaust shop and we are coming down the home stretch. The exhaust came out pretty sweet and I thought you would enjoy a few pics. :woot:

Very nicely done there I must say!

That is very nicely done!

Will you be taking either of your cars to local autoX or open track days?

Thanks, the guys at SPD in Rancho Cordova did an awesome job with the exhaust! After I break the engine in and work out any gremlins, I plan on taking it out to open track days and some local autox events. The Camaro is probably a year out, but I plan to do the same once it is complete. My neighbor is an autocross instructor for his Porsche club, so I need to hit him up for a few rides and lessons. He said the guys wouldn't mind if my old american car joined them at a few of their events. :)

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention, we started it up for the first time as well. After 5 years in 2 shops, I was one happy camper! Here is my crappy iPhone video of us firing it up...

We are still a few weeks out, but it is getting close!

Car sounds great, looks awesome...

Great looking and sounding car! Just curious what paint and color you used. That looks very similar to the color I'm going with for my 67 Camaro. Mine will be a Prowler Midnight Blue/metallic/pearl.

Thanks! The color is Lexus Indigo Ink Pearl, paint code 8P4. We added extra pearl to it, I think 350 grams? I saw a cobra several years ago with Indigo ink and silver stripes that I drooled over. I was tempted to paint the camaro the same color combo. I had Carter Hickman work up a rendering that I love... but my wife wants to paint it Lexus Smokey Granite Mica. In case you were wondering what it would look like, 2 words. Friggin cool!

Woodrow 02-19-2012 09:58 PM

Wow! Thanks for that rendering. I hadn't been able to find a photo of that color on a first gen before and that definately will help me to get motivated to get the body work/paint finished.

I would work on the wife to get that Camaro painted like the rendering. Just my opinion but seems there are just too many silver/grey cars out there nowadays.
