67 Camaro Pro Touring at Mecum Indianapolis

Well guys I have consigned my Camaro to the Mecum auction in Indy this May. It has a Friday night TV time slot. I have joked that I am 99% sure it will run during a commercial break but as long as there are two guys there that want it bad enough it shouldn't matter.

Here is the listing.

Bummed to see it go. Best of luck with the sale.

Awesome car. Good luck at the auction.

Rick D 02-29-2012 07:14 AM

GLWS Jeff, so what's next? You going to build another car?

camcojb 02-29-2012 07:27 AM

That's the best of the Mecum's, great auction. And yes, that's what happened with the Chevelle. I drove it onto the block as they went to commercial...........

Those pics won't hurt.

Looks awesome man... sad to see it go. But on to the next project?!

Good luck with the sale.

NovaBlue71 02-29-2012 05:21 PM

Good luck with sale, hope you get the money your looking for at mecum. Joe.

James OLC 02-29-2012 05:37 PM

Good luck Jeff! I've been debating doing something similar but haven't convinced myself to do it - we'll all be watching with our fingers crossed!

Van B 02-29-2012 05:50 PM

Thanks guys. I may take some time off before I have another project and concentrate on winning the Spec Miata Championship in Midwest Council this year.

Jody, every car I have ever wanted to watch on an auction it seems like gets cut to commercial. Seems like Murphy's law.

Skip, I actually called Rob McGaffin and bought a couple of shots from when he shot the car for the magazine to include in my listing.

Thanks James. I need all of the crossed fingers I can get  But seriously, if it does not bring my number I will be out with it at some events this summer.

slenning 03-01-2012 08:59 AM

Hey Jeff, it's a great car, should do real well at Mecum. Glad I got to see it it before you sold it. Good Luck!!! Fingers will be crossed here too.

MarkM66 03-01-2012 05:32 PM

Don't let Dana strong arm you into dropping that reserve to early. ;)

Van B 03-02-2012 03:26 PM

Don't worry, remember auctions are how I make a living. I am going in with a net low number in mind. Hopefully two or more guys will like it enough that I don't have to worry about my minimum.

BonzoHansen 03-02-2012 03:52 PM

Good luck Jeff. It's a beautiful car. Of course being a 67 just makes it a bit classier than the rest, of course!

What do you guys think about having the rear spoiler anodized black? It would kind of balance out the satin black strip around the nose. Would it look better for resale?

It's probably not a huge deal either way, but I like your thinking... I would match the front and rear spoilers if it were me whether it's black or aluminum I think they are linked aesthetically.

I like the contrast it gives so I'd leave it. Let them change it if they don't like it.

Plus the pics are out there already too. So no surprises this way for those already interested in it.

GLWS, it's a great looking and very solid build! Always have loved it, you know that! ;)

mdprovee 03-07-2012 04:57 PM

Jeff,

Definately a very nice car, wish I had the money.

Good luck!!

protour73 03-11-2012 08:23 PM

Damn Jeff, hate to hear this. It's a great car, after meeting you and seeing the car run at last years Heidt's Event, I know what this car is capable of.

Good Luck with the sale!!

Thanks Scott! I will be back, maybe quicker than you think if the car does not sell. Otherwise look for me next year with something else.

Van B 05-15-2012 10:58 PM

I leave tomorrow for Indy. I have been spending the last couple of weeks cleaning, cleaning and tidying up loose ends. I ended up having the rear spoiler anodized black. It really turned out nice. It sort of balances out the satin black stripe around the nose.

Wish me luck, or better yet, come out and bid high and often.

Vegas69 05-15-2012 11:02 PM

Good luck Jeff. Hope it brings a good number.

Flash68 05-15-2012 11:10 PM

That's what worries me. I promise I won't spend anything until I know mine is sold. :unibrow:

Al Moreno 05-16-2012 07:40 AM

Good luck man! Hope for two guys who just have to have it

camcojb 05-16-2012 07:42 AM

Good luck Jeff. Mecum is a great auction, and you picked the best of the Mecum's, that's a great venue.

6D9 Matt 05-16-2012 09:13 AM

Good luck bud... hope it works out!

buickfunnycar.com 05-16-2012 09:13 AM

GLWS,I need to sell my fleet and am toying with the idea of one of the local auctions here in August...

JohnC 05-16-2012 01:00 PM

Hi Jeff,

Good luck with sale!

I hope you get the money your looking for at mecum.

MarkM66 05-16-2012 01:13 PM

Since the auction started on Tuesday, I thought you would of been there already. Do they tell you what day to bring the car?

66SuperSport 05-16-2012 06:03 PM

Good luck with the car Jeff.

SnakeEater 05-16-2012 09:07 PM

Good luck with the sale. Can you post a picture of how the rear spoiler turned out.

Yep. I have known Dana for probably 30 years. We'll see what happens.

Saw Charley earlier too.

mexMan 05-18-2012 05:56 PM

Really? $71K? The bid goes on... At least it got to be in TV!

Flash68 05-18-2012 06:04 PM

Wish it was higher for Jeff, but I wouldn't say it's an insulting number.

Rick D 05-18-2012 06:34 PM

That does seem like a nice number, what did you want for the car Jeff? I know you can't build it for that but it was not insulting.
