Who else has pre-ordered the Kiesler SS700?
Just wondering who else has pre-ordered the new SS700?
What Sold me is other than a well built and opted transmission was the fact that I called on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm and they were there, Shafi and Dave both answered all my questions, Now thats customer service. Thank's to Shafi, and Dave. Looking forward to this unit! :D Matt |
When is the ETA?
|
The ship date on my order is for august 17th.

People are still waiting for RS600s! RS700s now. Really ???
|
I called in on the SS700 as well. Using a standard bellhousing is very attractive. However, from what I was told it still needs the R&D phase. My biggest concern is it's a NEW design. Even though it means cutting my tunnel and more money, I'm headed into the t56 family.

Anybody have any other suggestions OTHER than a T56 magnum.. I need standard Muncie patern... |
If you figure it out, let me know.

Go to 5speed.com and send Paul an e-mail. He builds road racing transmissions with and without dog ring. Not sure if he is still building the T 56's but he may have something for you.

Could be a good option depending on your power level. It's rated at 600hp/500 ftlbs. |

Helical Synchronized Ratios
2.95 2.42 1.94 1.53 1.34 1.23 1.00 1.00 .59, .63, .75, or .90 .59, .63, .75, .79 or .90 Looks pretty decent to me. |

Our Street 5-Speed kits are currently available with the preferred 2.94, 1.94, 1.34, 1.00 ratios in gears 1 thru 4. |
I think I'll call them and see if they can beef it up a little more for somebody I know.:unibrow:

Yep, it would work really well. I just doubt it would last. I did a little research and it sounds like it will be noisy in this configuration as well. I'll call to humor myself on Monday.

I need to find something soon... My SB2 is itchin to be put in.. and beat on.
I was looking at a Tex T101A but the shift linkage kills me for clearance... |

The linkage room needed for my car wasn't that bad really. |

motor is a strait RCR built motor one of D. Laurences pet motors. made roughly 830 hp. winds to 9800rpm i can post up a pic if you like? how far does the linkage protrude from the side of the trans? |
Quote:
I would def be putting a bulletproof trans behind that motor if it were me. Sounds like you are not detuning the motor at all. What are your plans for this truck? Much street driving planned? http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/DSCF3505.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/DSCF3504.jpg |

mostly street....:unibrow: some track/auto X pic of it all together before I pulled it apart for inspection and a new pair of lifters. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...t/P1011082.jpg Bell housing and clutch. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...t/IMG_2060.jpg BTW your Camaro is awesome! |
What about a faceplated TKO600 from Liberty? with the the road race gear set?
Matt. |
Thanks dude.
I'm not sure that thing will be fun on the street unless you detune it a bit... is it a 358? That won't make crap for power until 6k rpm. True story: Jmmie Johnson had an SB2 put in his street 1st gen and hated it immediately.... was undrivable on the street.... so he had an LS9 put in. If it was me I'd at least stroke it to get over 400 cubes (those Sb2 heads have MASSIVE intake ports) and that assumes you have a 358. Whatever you do, I love it! Check craigslist too for the T101. I got mine rebuilt with many fresh parts for $1800. |

I just came across a T101 on RJ for a good price so im going to look into it a bit more. thanks for the help! |
If you are turning 9800 rpm, you don't have many choices.

Well im happy I dodged the kiesler bullet...
Thanks guy! Just picked up an MVE NC 500! (T101A just bit of differences) thanks to Dave for the help and everybody else who warned me! Matt |
Very cool. I think it's a better matched trans for your engine.
What are the gear ratios? Racing Junk or ebay I assume? |
Good deal Matt, best of luck going forward.
|
Dave: Ebay
1st 2.88 2nd 1.75 3rd 1.35 4th 1:1 should work well with either the 3.89's or even 4.10's (leaning on 4.10's for awesome 80mph rolling burn outs) Matt |
