WWII Photos....incredible clarity

Sent to me by my Dad today. As I understand it, this technology was given by Eastman Kodak to goverment photographers in 4x5 format. Pretty cool:

I've always been a fan of WW2 history. It was a time of Hero's and Romance. Those are by far the best pictures I've seen of that era. Very, very cool.

Thanks for sharing Ron.

Thanks for sharing. As a photographer, how I miss film and large format photography. Nothing beats it, I don't care how good digital cameras get. Nothing will replace film in my book.

I am not a photagraphy expert buy any means, but I wonder why we have not seen more photos of that quality before? The lighting certainly was good. I really enjoyed seeing those, thanks for posting

Reminds me of the Russian glass plate pictures that surfaced a while back. They required some rendering to get the final product but made for amazing pictures from ~1907-1915.

For example this pic doesn't look like its from 1910...

I am slightly suspicious of the wwII pics though. While it is no surprise most of the pics are staged if they were sponsored by the war department. What surprises me is how many of the plane components look used rather than "new" on a factory floor.
