What do ya'll think about the color? 67 Camaro
I can't decide if I want to keep my car this color or repaint it. What do ya'll think - honesty is welcome. Here's my 67 Camaro. It is still under constrution (what hotrod isn't?). I am going to try full custom eventually. 20" wheels, custom interior, painted fiberglass console and rear decking, etc. engine 454, t350 trans, 373 rear end 17x8 torque thrust II's Full fiberglass front end |
Sorry purple is not my kind of color. On the other hand flames are always cool if done well.My .02

I like the color. The flamesare great, but they can be painted in light blue with silver or white contour lines. I hope you understand waht I mean. :)
|
The flames are ghost flames - (Now you see them now you don't) I sorta got tired of going to car show and seeing the same ol' paint schemes. No offense to anyone.
|
don't care for purple or flames. looks like a nice car you got there!
I have never been a flame guy or understood the purpose of flames. Welcome to the site. |
camaro
great car to have some fun with.
|
Maybe its the lighting in the pictures, but don't really care for the color. Flames look good. Just my .02.

I agree with Russ...just not feeling that color. |
Ghost flames are kinda 80's mullet style.....needs to be updated if you plan on a repaint
|
nah purple was yesterday
|
Well, I think you guys talked me into it. I think I'll repaint the car. Any good ideas. I thought about two toning it or going back to the original color - Mountain Green. :willy:

two tones are hot right now....you don't see two many on camaros yet so that could be an option! We usually leave all of paint schemes to a designer...they always come up with something unique for you..thats my .02 cents anyway oh and black always looks good to.... |
Yeah, the car was black when my parents owned it, and silver and blue and green. Black always looks good, but there are two 2 or 3 black camaros running around town now. I like alot of Chip Foose's ideas on 2 toning.

there is a killer design that has not been pulled off yet and that is the drawing of the Sick Fish before they decided to go all silver with it....it is a 3 tone silver, red, and satin black...it could easily be pulled off on a camaro |
Do you have any pics or website that shows it?
|
Color
I luv the 67's & 68's, as for the color, i'm sure the car would be fun to drive until your friends see ya!! Two tone it!! Sounds like you will be making changes to the car anyways,so kill the lavender. If you like flames look into some tribal flames!!

Mountain green is nice as well.. maybe with some sort or two-tone deal or accent stripe (smoked silver hockey stripe, etc) Nice car though  |
I am thinking about maybe doing 2 toned - black on bottom with mountain green on top. I haven't seen that yet.

anyone remember that silver 68 camaro with "blasperry" purple z28 stripes?
That car was killer. I think the owner is from Missouri. It was in Camaro Performers way back when. I think Jody's old car was featured in that mag as well. Just an idea to make your decision tougher! I agree sickfish original paint scheme would be unique! |

Ya'll are giving me some great ideas, I appreciate all the help. I really liked the green and black scheme but I would probably flip it. the charcoal would look cool with it too. The sick fish idea was awesome, if I could pull it off right.
I could paint it 2 tone black-green - blasberry stripes and a red top. Just kidding guys, probably still look better than it does now  Anybody remeber that Gambler Green they put on the Mustang on OVER HAULIN', I think that would be an wicked color on almost any car. :willy: |

ya I have liked that car ever since I saw it on the Intro site.....very killer car! Jason-is it bagged?? |

I'm not to fond of 2-tones on a Camaro. Something about the body lines and where you have to break the paint doesn't seem right. |

what is with air bags, doesn't anybody still use a shocks/springs.lol |

I love you, you love me...need I say more
|
You might want to two tone the car if you are to stay with the purple (silver or dark blue)with a pinstripe to break it up.

I would definitely find another color for it.
Purple's not such a bad color, but the one you have just doesn't have any "pop" to it. That's all. You could try a different purple like the one on this car..... http://www.infamouscamaro.com/P1010004.JPG My $.02 anyway. Good luck with the project. |
Yeah, that's a nice color. The paint on my car was suppose to be more of a blue and not so light purple. The paint looks wicked on a very sunny day and the pearl is coming through, but when it's cloudy or at night it looks tooo purple. It was one of those chances you that when you know it's going to look real good or real bad. It's just one of those $$pricey chances I like to take. :willy: :D I'm going to put alot more thought into the next color.
|
Be different........... If you got a cool color make sure you nail the stance too!
|
The stance of a car definetly makes or the breaks the car. To me, nothing looks better than a set of big, fat wheels tucked ever so slightly under the fender. :captain:
Right now I have a full fiberglass front end (which will be for sale soon - if anyone is interested) And I am going back to a full metal front cap. With the metal front cap and a 454 under the hood that should squat the front end and I have air shocks on the back, so I can drop the rear almost as low as I want. I plan on changing the rear shocks and just lowering the rear eventually. |
somebody needs to do an early camaro an olive drab green pearl kinda color, kinda along the lines of the colors on "chicane", set that off with a variant green hockey, bumble-bee, or z/28 stripes. throw some giant billet ralleys on it and make it super low.
:willy: i think i might have to go find a camaro :unibrow: |

I like some of the knew metallic yellows or copper colors coming out on OEM cars along the lines of the car in his Steve's avatar. The Nissan Murano had a nice sorta Bronze. The new Civic Si Coupe Habanero Red Pearl looks good too. I also like solid colors with maybe an original style stripe. The car tends to look more timeless and isn't as easily dated. If you like the non metallic colors and want to stay in the blue/pruple area, the Audi S4 had a bold blue color a few years back. |
Newschool: love the bronco (and color) and the 67 (not the color ;) ). So will you paint it yourself?
Oh, and glad to see someone else close to Memphis. Jackson is not to far from here. :) |
