1967 Camaro for OUSCI
Guys, I just dropped off my '67 Camaro to Paul and Joe VanNus for paint. This is the car I'm prepping for a run at the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational after SEMA.
It will be another long summer thrashing to get a car together. The goal for the project is to do better in 2012 than I did in 2011. Here are some photos of the car when I received it. http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_3368.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_3369.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_3358.jpg A little father along with work being done at Sled Alley here in the Detroit area http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_3446.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_3445.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_3909.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_4070.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...I/DSC_4094.jpg More to come.... Stielow |

The physician treating a number of lat-g members has noticed they have all been suffering from the same Vitamin 'S' deficiency.
All is well now in the lat-g world again. |

Yes Red Devil is gone and so is my home equity line of credit debit.
It went to a gentleman in Iowa, not Charley. I already miss Red Devil, but I like working on a new project. Red Devil had a great run for “another Red ’69 Camaro with a SBC”. I doubt I’ll ever top that car for everything it did. 2nd Motor State with the car less than 48 hours old 1st OUSCI 2010 2nd OUSCI 2011 1st Holley LS Fest 2010 2nd Holley LS Fest 2011 1st Heidts 2011 Features in Hot Rod, PHR, Camaro Perf, Car and Driver and others Featured in Sony Gran Turismo Game (the release is soon I hope) Featured in Optima Battery Commercial (Watch Speed it is on all the time) The ‘67 is an evolution of Red Devil: A little more power, little less weight a little more grip… I did a ’67 because they are a bit smaller and lighter than a ’69. No major changes: All DSE Chassis Thomson Engine D&D Performance Trans Brembo Brakes Ricks Fuel Tank SED ABS Brakes and Carbon Fiber Hood Etc….. I hope to make an event in the Sept. time frame with it. Working on these projects part time with a lot of help from good guys like Sled Alley, Thomson Automotive, Dave Mikels, Ryan Kuhlenbeck, and Paul and Joe VanNus still takes a lot time. I’m still just a regular guy working out of my 3 car garage with a day job as an engineer. I don’t do all the work myself due to time constraints and recognizing my core strengths. My core strength is vision, engineering and project management. As an example I could paint my car but it would look like a crap compared to the job the VanNus team can do. I farm out work to people who are better and faster than me on a certain tasks. I can see the whole car in my head so I can coordinate the work with a few shops fairly effectively. A good friend of mine gave me some advice 15 years ago that I still stick to this day “Do one thing on your project a day and it will get done. Even if it is just making a phone call to order a small part it all adds up”. The OUSCI deal has become very competitive and I have my eye on getting faster this year with more style. I hope I can bring enough car to hold my own one more year. See ya at the track. Mark |
Awesome feed back, thanks Mark. Hope the build runs smooth.
You must be talking about Buttonwillow in September. :unibrow: Dont worry, I'll take it easy on you  |
Condolences Mark and congratulations on the new venture.
