1973 Corvette- LS1/T56 Pro-touring
 

Hello,

This is my current money pit. It is a 1973 Corvette that I purchased in Jan 2010 for $7300. Overall the car was nice and clean, but I just something more radical as you can see. The 350/th400 was pulled in place of LS1/T56 combo from an 02 Camaro SS. The motor has a LS6 and Intake, Hedman headers and under-drive pulley.

Cool project, I love the C3 body style. Do you have any other plans for your Corvette?

Glad you started posting over here as well. It'll be easier for me to keep up with your progress, lol. I like the colors you've chosen. How long did they say it would take to spray the car?

Well my friend is the one doing all the work, glassing,body, and paint. So It will be going into the booth on the 21st and have it home on the 22nd. Its an 8hr booth rental plus the over night stay then back home to cut and polish.

Paint is done, just need to cut and buff next weekend, spend about 9 hours in the booth yesterday.

Like the paint job, really jumps out at you.
And I like the look of super-lite wheels on the 60's and 70's cars.

Where did the flares come from? They look like they are Corvette specific. I've been looking for some off the shelf flares for another project.

Looks great, I also agree why the solid rear end? Now if want to cool build a frame with c5/c6 stuff under it :yes:

Why the solid rear?

My reasoning is that the C3 IRS is weak, and there is no way I would be ever to fully appreciate the power of the LS1 and T56 without being worried about braking the rear, especially with a 345 drag radial. Also to beef up the current IRS would far exceed the cost of a solid axle.

Solid axle I get (mostly, I am installing an IRS in my 442). The Dana44 is pretty damned strong (held an LS-6 OK, right?). But why a locked rear? Is it to be a drag car?

I built a 72 vette last summer. But I mini tubbed and 4 linked. I personally dont like flares. Paint looks great like the stripe.

Thank You, I was concerned about how they would come out, but my body guy did a great job.

Thank You its HOK Brandywine with PPG clear, its hard to see but there is a strip that goes from the cowl to the back and tee's are the rear like you see it.

I wish I could say I as done, I still need my AC and 4.11s ,but I am trying to convince myself shell out another $4k

I got the alignment done, and lowered the front some.
