AIX Outlaw Mustang Airborne + Crash @ Willow Springs

Willow Springs gives me the heebie jeebies, another case in point:

What a great public service announcement they made this video into. Be safe out there guys!

And that is why I'm trying to get a cage installed before September...

Good grief. :faint:

Turn 8 is serious business at Big Willow. Wow that guy is lucky. And a well prepped and built car saved him it certainly appears.

Spiffav8 07-05-2012 04:52 PM

That was crazy! :wow:

Extra incentive to watch the whole video so you can see this shot mixed in there:

Track days are serious business!

If you are road racing, your better be ready for this reality before you leave home. Either have a well built car or one hell of a life insurance policy for the family.

Well, it looks like the Autocross for me, until I can put a cage, the seat and belts, and a hans device..

I have the life insurance, but I don't want to be a cripple...:lateral:

skatinjay27 07-05-2012 09:13 PM

that settles it for me, ill just go full street car on my car! :D

todd i know most would prefer a nice chunk of money over having you around, but im betting for some crazy reason kelli wouldnt

you should retire payback from racing and get a fully caged out miata!

I post very little on here but this is worth writing.

many owners of pt or performance street cars put a harness system in their car because it looks right or it gives the look they are wanting. But mounting of this system is more critical and if done wrong can hurt you more than no seat belt at all.pay close attention to what they talk about and how the harness is mounted.A cage is not an option if you are serious about driving hard whether on a twisty road of the track.
And cage design is also critical. If you design it for just ease of entry or exit and don't look at the protection till after, the outcome of an incedent could be serious.
This is what myself and a nav walked away from doing close to 160.Stan

Dayumm!! Glad I got at least a 6point in mine. Really after the first road event I did, I realized that you're cookin along and something bad could happen....really bad! So I got belts and a small cage now. This video scares me even more now!!:wow:

That's why I always say it's always good to get some dirt track seat time too. Going fast should be taken serious. It doesn't take much to roll a car and get yourself dead. Wish I had footage of some of the hill climb crashes. After witnessing a few of those early on I gained much respect for mother speed and immovable objects.

Glad he made it out ok. You too ruslow. Glad to have you here. That looks like it was a bad one.
