That was done as a learning tool for state farm appraisals. So they can train how to appraise both a facotry restoration and a resto-mod car.

The half and half car has been done before. I saw this one at SEMA it was to promote a restoration shop. Done as a before and after.

State Farm wont pay a decent body labor rate , but they can buy stupid crap like this . If I had state farm I would dump them .

Not to get too far off topic, but this reminds me of a very cool Camaro display that GM built for car shows in 1968, to show off the 1969 car.

It was designed to show the RS front clip and the standard front clip on the same car.

It was a motorized set up whereby the car (everything from the firewall and back) lifted up and away from the standard front clip, which stayed stationary (sorta like everything except the front clip was doing a wheelie) and would then rotate horizontally on a turntable, about 45 degrees, then would come down and mate up with the RS front clip.

Then after a few minutes, the process would reverse itself, over and over.

I remember some years ago the owners of Ricks Camaros had found the display car in a shipping container somewhere (Australia, if memory serves?) and had purchased and had started restoring it, but then I never saw any updates, after that.

I remember seeing one of those displays in person back in the day. I have wondered what happend to them from time to time.
