1970 Pro Touring DAR/T
I was nudged into creating a build thread.
So the story goes... Once upon a time I had a 71 Dart that I turbocharged and was going to do body work on it over the winter. After removing a few panels and fenders, the car was diagnosed with cancer and had 6 months to live. It was sent down the road and I picked up a cancer free 70 Dart from Arizona to start a new build on. As you will see this build took and entirely different direction then the last build. Delivery picture from 6/10 http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/IMG_1045.jpg 5/11 8 3/4 diff, Large Bolt pattern hubs and wheels, Disc front brakes. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...IMG_1329-2.jpg And then the tear down started so it could go on the rotisserie. Found 2 build sheets. Back seat. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t..._underseat.jpg Under the carpet. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...nfloorpans.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ndercarpet.jpg |
Been looking all over for a 46RH. Found a few, all but one were to expensive and trashed. Went and checked out the one today at the bone yard but it turned out to be the non lockup version. I did however score a 42RH.
Its not as stout but it should do the job for a few years. bye bye 904TF, hellow 4 speed OD! http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...0208-00109.jpg We are doing this build at my friends shop. http://www.gcrods.com/index.html USCarTool SFC's were fitted. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...riversside.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ingHDR1280.jpg |
Had the bottom of the car sand blasted for $200. BEST $200 I've ever spent!
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...0218-00213.jpg Only found one problem spot. Rear passenger trunk area. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...0218-00209.jpg |

Test fitted some 315 35R17's on the Dart since the mini tub is done.
Decided to step it up finally and pulled out the good camera. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...eam-Roller.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...am-Roller3.jpg[/QUOTE] http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...am-Roller2.jpg |
Whhaaaat is this? A Cuda hood on a Dart? I must have hit my head. :D

Anyone interested in a K member for a Mopar A body. I HIGHLY recommend getting in contact with HemiDenny on forabodiesonly.com. Been absolutely great to deal with. Product fits perfectly, no massaging, no install issues, the guy knows what he is doing and does it perfectly.

Badarts radiator support and Denny's K.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/K-in-car.jpg Its going to look like jewelery once its powder coated. I'm just trying to decide what color. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t.../K-in-car2.jpg |
Anyone know where these go?
I turned my back and the plasma cutter got a mind of its own. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-31-11_723.jpg I think I found where they were at. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-32-02_360.jpg |

One more piece of the puzzle.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...0-13-50_61.jpg 27.5x19 Griffin radiator is mounted. Think it turned out nice. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-24-39_427.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-24-03_926.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-23-20_837.jpg |
Hagen fuel door installed. No more crooked fuel cap

Nice and tucked out of the way.

Here is the test panel and multiple pictures so you can see how it changes based on the light.
Loud and obnoxious, just like Ma Mopar liked them. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-08-19_419.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-15-51_355.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-14-10_782.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-15-58_429.jpg Took a picture with the good camera. And I still can't capture the color correctly. Cameras have a real hard time with this color. Even the factory car I got the color from shows up different in every picture I've seen. 3 stage paints are awesome. Can't wait to see how it shows off the body lines of the hood and the rest of the car. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...int-Choice.jpg |
Fuel pump is mounted.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-38-32_780.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-58-26_630.jpg View from the back side. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-28-14_696.jpg Put the Dougs headers in place so I can see where the lines need to run to avoid the exhaust. I'm pretty dang happy with the headers so far. They fit like a glove and clear the transmission crossmember. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-14-45_454.jpg |
Fuel line, transmission lines have been run.
Mounted the line lock and ran some of the brake lines. I need to remake the one line with stainless and run the front and rear brakes yet. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-54-39_506.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-53-08_627.jpg |

Feels great being able to sit in the car again and hang onto a steering wheel.
All the way forward. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-25-12_786.jpg All the way backward. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-25-47_277.jpg Piece of cake getting in and out of the back seat. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-26-09_264.jpg |
Hood graft is complete. I'm extremely pleased with it.

What kind of seats and floor brackets did you go with? I like how they slide forward an also how they do not seem too high / close to the roof.

Scat Pro Car Elite Lumbar series with the Scat brackets.
Going to have to massage the passenger side bracket. |
