My NEW Wayne Due subframe arrived today

Here's my NEW subframe that just arrived from Wayne Due. It uses DSE control arms and their coil over assembly. It has an AGR power rack with Baer trackers and Phil Brewer billet steering arms. The sway bar is from Speedway Engineering. It uses the stock spindle.

What's slick about this setup is if you already own aftermarket tubular arms, big wheels and brakes for a 1st Gen, those parts will bolt on to this all new Wayne Due subframe. It will also allow 10" wheels to be used and the track width is stock.

Since this is new from Wayne and I expect there to be a lot of interest, I'll post a BUNCH of pics.

I see just a wee bit of Phil Brewer in that sub frame. Very Cool. PM or email me Scott on the speedway sway bar IE where to get one please. I sold my sub frame bare to a friend in anticipation of Waynes subframe hitting the market. Thanks for the cool pix.

Sweet! You just had to show me that piece after all of the hard work I put into my stock sub. :D

I see one in my future...

Ricochet 03-10-2006 05:53 PM

Those are some beautiful welds!! Looks like a killer piece there Scott. Wayne did a killer job on his part. Can't wait to see it under the car..Knowing you...It's probably already under it!!

I'm feelin the love.

It really is a work of art. I can't wait to get it into the car.

As for pricing, you'll need to contact Wayne Due.

Musclerodz 03-10-2006 08:35 PM

I remember talking to Wayne about a marketing a stock replacement setup early last year. Looks like he finally got it done and looks killer. I don't think welding can be much nicer than that.

You know if all the parts were on the car, it takes up a lot less floor space. :P j/k. Looking good Scott.

Hang in there, he will. He's beyond busy, plus in the middle of a move. No excuse, but e-mail has been my best way to get ahold of him.

customcam 03-10-2006 09:48 PM

wow way cool! nice craftmanship
thats a crazee set up

XcYZ 03-10-2006 09:48 PM

As Jody noted, this is something new from Wayne and he's gauging the market on whether or not there will be a big demand for this setup (I think it will be VERY popular). Production variables will be based on the interest/demand.

slownova 03-10-2006 10:00 PM

well if pricing is fair, i'll buy one asap

Yenkostyle 03-11-2006 12:30 AM

I am with slownova. If the price is right I will buy it now...

Teetoe_Jones 03-11-2006 01:33 AM

Wayne just got a set of our AFX spindles to go on these too. Looks like there won't be a single factory part left on the frame, but it all bolts up the same.
Scott, PM me, I have an idea for you.

Tyler

Jims78elky 03-11-2006 05:09 AM

Nice Scott!

Are you thinking of having it powder coated?

A very nice addition to the camaro!

Sales@Dutchboys 03-11-2006 05:30 AM

Man i lovE it!

XcYZ 03-11-2006 05:41 AM

Yep, I'll have it powdercoated after mock up.

I'm glad to hear the awesome response on this setup. I really think Wayne has a fantastic idea with this setup and his craftsmanship is 2nd to none.

Now I need to order new inner wheel halves for my HRE's so I can go 18x10's.

black2002ls 03-11-2006 07:29 AM

Scott,

That is an awesome looking subframe and you just made my day!!! That is EXCELLENT reference for my 1:12th scale. lol.

JohnnyR 03-11-2006 10:47 AM

The New Subframe

That is a beautiful looking piece. What are the pros/cons vs. his Corvette based frames? Is it the stock track width that is the attractive point?

Just curious.

I think the main issue with the corvette frame is the bump steer.I believe it has to do with the location of the rack.

Musclerodz 03-11-2006 11:18 AM

The whole purpose of this frame is to a stock replacement that allows wider front tires and give the guys with stock sub replacement parts an alternative to the stock frame without having to start over. I don't think there is any performance advantage to the sub itself, just bling factor. I felt at the time when I brought it up to Wayne, it was the last niche market for Camaro subs that had not been tackled yet. What I don't see in the pic is whether he left it with stock steering or went to a rack. I will venture a guess with the steering arms on there you are going rack.

Don't forget, PACKAGING is a HUGE concern of mine. I need ALL the space I can get for plumbing.

Musclerodz 03-11-2006 01:55 PM

Somebody has to come up with new inner fenders as well for the wide tires. I would think DSE would be the first, but tooling will be a killer on that size of a part.

Mike

Musclerodz 03-11-2006 01:57 PM

Is that a GT rack? I plan to use an '03 Cobra rack on mine when fabricating commences later this year.
