Project Chevillain 1967 Chevelle
I guess I have made it far enough to start a build thread. This is our 67 Chevelle I picked up in Aug 2009 for $500.00. No motor or trans and it had been sitting for 15 years in northern California under a oak tree.
http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/500/HDEvoHinge4.JPG Frame striped and painted. 10 bolt has been replaced by a 12 bolt. http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/5...m/CIMG3702.JPG Made brackets to put the body on it's side. http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/5...m/CIMG1292.JPG Sanded Acid Etched and painted bottom. http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/5...m/CIMG1293.JPG Engine 1974 454 never been opened. After machine work. Eagle rotating assembly, KB pistons 10.5-1, Aluminum heads, roller rockers. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4221676_n.jpg Moved from Cali back to Bend Oregon. Bastard car. Floor was perfect but roof and quarter panels shot. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6857207_n.jpg Roof and Quarters replaced. http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...0_733554_n.jpg Building TH400 that will handle the HP http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...7_514539_n.jpg Painted Brake Calipers http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/500/CIMG0655.JPG http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/500/CIMG0675.JPG Engine in painted firewall. http://photos.wakeboarder.com/data/5...23-13_3841.jpg Door painted but it is up side down. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...12427319_n.jpg Currently working on body. Nice work. It isn't too bad considering the tree thing. Its funny, the one I have has cherry floors but bad filler, roof and quarters too.
AMD sheet metal? |
Yes AMD metal.
There was about 4" of leaves, nuts and crap in the bottom of the car when we got it. The car started out as a vinyl top car and at some point it was removed and painted. The whole top was coated in fiberglass patches and floated with resign. It was all oil caned and pitted. The trunk lid was a little rusted and both front fenders were in the lower area behind the front tire. The guy I got it from had a replacement front clip and trunk lid off another car he had got years ago and threw those in. Thanks for the comments! |
Tomorrow wet sand and polish.

I like that! How low do you plan to put it?
|
Eventually we will put an air bag system in it. For me it needs to go much lower.:)
