1967 Chevelle bodywork, rust repair, minitubbing, etc
Let me back up, and start from the beginning...
When we first received this 67 Chevelle from California, it appeared to be a decently clean car... http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8473/8...b27db9ba_z.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr We removed the old floppy chassis and engine: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8476/8...3f38de68_c.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_ by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8053/8...8748f2f0_c.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_ by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr But looks can be deceiving... After sand-blasting, we found a lot of issues. It needed a lot of rust repair. New quarter panels were a must. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8324/8...5420a755_c.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr We did a simple shave on the firewall, like we do on all our cars. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8193/8...b71da062_z.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr Many new panels were fitted. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8043/8...ddaa25f7_c.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr Fitting the body to the new G-Machine Chassis was just the start. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8330/8...2d9204ed_c.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr The firewall, underhood, etc. were painted first for logistics sake. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8183/8...f65e3dce_c.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr More new panels: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8327/8...58b08d05_z.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Bodywork by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr Minitubbing is very common at Schwartz Performance. Our G-Machine Chassis is designed to allow up to 345mm tires in the rear: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8193/8...91b8aea0_z.jpg WAL01_67Chevelle_Interior by Schwartz Performance, on Flickr |

1967 Chevelle custom exhaust, shaved firewall
Quote:
We run exhaust under the rear-end often, but it was absolutely necessary on this Chevelle because of the airride. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8329/8...233b0f83_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8334/8...7dc3eab1_c.jpg Out with the old, in with the Schwartz: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8189/8...11e66263_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8049/8...bb8e4417_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8187/8...dfb7d3d9_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8045/8...7771a6af_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8471/8...eb7973c8_c.jpg Shaved firewall: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8335/8...8715b0f1_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8327/8...861eb49c_c.jpg |

That is one bad SOB!
What fuel tank are you running and pumps? Is it a single or twin automatically switchable fuel system like some of Nelson's other twin turbo offerings? |
Nice!!!

We run exhaust under the rear-end often, but it was absolutely necessary on this Chevelle because of the airride. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8329/8...233b0f83_c.jpg Jeff, where did you source those stainless mufflers? I'd like to run something like that on my tails in the same place as a resonator! LOVE this build! Subscribed!! |

What are you going to do, when you get to a hill? On the other hand, I hope that no small birds fly in front of that thing! |
4) SLP Mufflers, and 2) 76mm turbos quiet the exhaust.
