Maserati Grantourismo at Roadster Shop

Thought I'd share a few pics of a fabrication and install project at the shop just now. We previously worked on this customer's Mercedes CL65 rear diffuser last year http://www.roadstershop.com/installa...ken-s-cl65-amg.

He was so happy with the result, naturally he had to have one done for his Maserati Grantourismo convertible! The factory diffuser is a little lackluster (no offence Pinninfarina!:_paranoid), so we planned on adding something with a bit more Italian flare...
BTW - Hearing an Italian V8 engine note in a shop full of American muscle is quite unusual!! It's like hearing an opera singer at a Metallica concert!!:D

Awesome!

Sieg 10-17-2012 03:41 PM

So just how are you going to make the front look as good as the back? :D

NOPANTS68 10-17-2012 03:45 PM

I would hang that thing on my wall. It's cooler than most of the "art" I see at galleries. Nice job.

Thanks everyone  It is a pretty cool project and Jon is doing a killer job on the fab. We just wrapped up the rest of the belly pan portion that will fit up to the original side skirts under the bumper. A little more final fitting and trimming and it is ready for paint.

quick dumb question though, hard to see in the pictures, but how's it set to drain?

ryeguy2006a 10-18-2012 06:59 AM

Very nice. Will it be painted or polished?

Drain holes will be added before we paint.

Definitely painted... most likely a satin black

That looks great guys, like it should have been there in the first place

67malibu 11-16-2012 11:36 PM

Awesome work as usual - I know a few customers who may be interested in one of these - I know it's a lot of work, but there is a market for parts like this - maybe send some pics over to http://www.luxury4play.com/maserati/ and see if you get any interest -

tones2SS 11-17-2012 07:26 PM

Exactly.
