1968 Camaro Subframe wanted

Hey guys,

I'm looking to replace my subframe and was curious if anyone has one sitting around that they took out to replace with an aftermarket one. Thanks!

If only you were closer. Should be someone in that area.

spacepirate 10-30-2012 07:59 PM

Yeah, I'm hoping one is close so I can save on shipping.

Any 67-69 Camaro or 68 -72 Nova subframe will work. Just find one that is straight with no dents, but almost all front subframe mounts need to be replaced. It is rare to find one that doesn't need them to be replaced.

Thanks for the heads up on the Nova idea. I'll do some searching.

I have a subframe from 72 Nova, but it was modified with DSE coilover bracketry. It was sand blasted, and painted black. Oh, we modified it for the rear DSE subframe connectors. So you can take the subframe off. Doesn't have any coil overs or shocks. Although, I am in Ohio, so shipping might be expensive on it. Unless you can find someone that is going out there from here. The subframe mounts were fixed and it was installed on my 67 Camaro, but I got the DSE subframe now.

Thanks for the offer but I'll be using all Ride Tech on the front end. Unless you think it will still function properly.

You have to contact DSE and ask about it. I never had interest in Ridetech. I prefer a coil over shock in front.

I have Ride Tech's coil overs at the moment but thank you for the offer.

Scott has photos of the install. Here is the link. https://lateral-g.net/tech_articl...lover_install/

Really need to get the subframe first and then buy your shocks. Looking at the prices of ridetech it is rather expensive as compared to my Koni kit. Anyway, a Nova subframe will work fine. Plenty of them are still out there.
