Agreed.

The lack of timely reporting is an issue. Who's assigned to cover it this year?

Great work Mark!

Stielow was a man on a mission. The fact that the chase/video car went off track trying to keep up pretty much says it all.

Here's some more FB pics.

Associated Press- GM engineer Mark Stielow ran his vintage 1967 Camaro equipped with a heavily modified Corvette LS9 motor for an extended period of time today in Nevada.

This environmentally altering event has cancelled out daylight savings time in parts of the U.S.

Vegas69 11-03-2012 08:59 PM

That's very impressive Mark. I have to admit that part of me was really doubting your new car could win this year. Congrats

Mark has a lot if driving skill and he has a pretty nice recipe of making a 1st gen move and handle.

skatinjay27 11-03-2012 10:33 PM

yeah even on his warm up lap he was jamming!

but for some odd reason everything that i saw today has blanked from my mind and all i recall was a semi drifting around the "s" in front of the paddock!!!

Vince@Meanstreets 11-03-2012 11:55 PM

with no rear spoiler too boot.

While watching the speed stop challenge, Mark was on the big track you could see him enter the long straight. The chase vette was not keeping up with him at all. The end of the big straight there very large flames coming from Marks exhaust. It was just bad a$$ watching it come down the back straight.

Tom.A 11-04-2012 01:08 AM

Great news:thumbsup: Looking forward to hearing lap times vs. his prior years

jvike 11-04-2012 03:37 AM

They need to have a production/livestream next year. I want to watch this!

frankv11 11-04-2012 06:08 AM

My first attended event ,
Got there a bit late but man I tell you it's nothing like hearing and seeing this cars run. Was a bit lost as far best times and what not but got to see all this cars up close. Like marks car , Dse squad , all the c10's.
Got to do it again.

Rick D 11-04-2012 07:26 AM

I'll 2nd that. At least let Chad and the Bangshift crew lose on it. It wont take anything away from the production shown on SPEED next year.
