JCG Restoration & Customs 72 Chevelle Build

Here is another Chevelle that we have been working on for the last four months.. The owner’s mom bought it brand new in 72 & has some sentimental value to him… The owner wants some modern comfort creatures to the car.. so here is the laundry list..

JCG Complete Chassis with suspension
Maybe a new ZL-1 supercharged LS engine
4L65 Automatic
Vintage Air
Forgeline Wheels
Michelin Super Sports
JCG Body work & paint
JCG Interior Work
Kooks Headers
MagnaFow Exhaust

& much more!

We have completed all the Fab & rust repairs.. Car is currently in the body shop… next week we cut a new chassis for the car!

We got the new motor in for the Chevelle yesterday... LSA CTS-V.. Ordered the top hat on the supercharger from a Zl-1 with the engine cover... We already modified the intercooler fittings for -10 An fittings... Trans is on the way with front track system.. Chassis is being laser cut... got lots of work ahead of with this one..

Thank you sir. That is a big tunnel. This car must be going lowwww!
Please keep us updated!

Morning Chris,

This car is looking great.

I was just about to ask you about the gas tank. Will this tank be specific to your chassis because the car sits so low. In other words did you reduce the overall height of the tank vs the stock tank. I am working on Chevelle with a buddy and the tank is scrapping the ground and we are looking for a solution.

Cris@JCG 06-04-2013 10:38 AM

Hey Marty-

This tank will be specific to my chassis.. We just built the tank to look the best for the rear section of the car.. requires more modification to mount but wanted to keep the volume of fuel in the tank.. Basically we grabbed as much area we could & moved the sump of the tank to the front..

It will make more sense when I mount it in place..

That is what I thought.

Looks like we will be making a custom tank as the Ricks tank sits way to low

Marty, I'm dealing with a design now as well due to the IRS on my chassis. I knew I would have to get a custom tank, but I'm wanting to keep the volume like Chris said.

Were looking at doing a mustang style tank and dropping it into the trunk floor. Just raise the darn thing up and it should solve the problem.
