Top fuel in HD- amazing vid
A buddy sent this to me earlier. I don't care what kinda cars you're into or what you do with them- this stuff is just unreal. Turn up the speakers and enjoy.

Awesome

Nothing like a 500 inch hemi burning 1-1/2 gallons of nitro per minute to produce over 7,000 HP, if you have not seen it live you need to, it is an incredible experience. Great video.

Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic video! It is more than Drag Racing. :) |
Very cool video! I have been to the track at Sonoma almost every year (it's only 20 mins from my house) to see the big boys when they come to town. Like someone said above, they are a must see! Nothing like seeing them in person:hail: :hail:
One thing I never realized is that they idle at 2500 rpm:unibrow: Thanks for sharing that video! |
Awesome video, thanks for sharing

great video, some of you know me from autocross events but our shop is big in drag racing history, but for 10 years we haven't drag raced, last year we picked up a new chassis and are almost finished with the engine and hope to run some events in 2013 heres the new truck

Awesome Video!!
I love that they tear down and rebuild those engines at every race. And the fuel consumption of nitromethane, just INSANE!! |
Great video, been to the Bristol track many times. The first big drag race event I went to, they was still running the front engine setup. The first rear engine dragster I saw was Big Daddy at Rockingham went I was a teenager.

Great video... but still no comparison to feeling those things in action!

i dont think anything can prepare you for the first time standing near the startline when these things crack the throttle!! |

The warmup session is also used to set the clutch, which most people aren't aware of. It takes an immense amount of data, to be competitive at this level. Roughly 5 gallons of nitro is gone at warmup. Another 4 to do burnout. 11 gallons is left to go 1000 feet. And these engines are over 8000 HP currently, and I'm sure it will increase this winter to even more. Just imagine the speeds we would see, if these cars could still go a full 1/4 mile! This makes the cup engines I used to build, seem very, very unmeaningful. I agree with what's already been said about the footage. It's by far, the best footage I've ever seen in any type of Motorsports. You are a very talented guy! Bravo!!! |
