Forums specific for Eleanor Mustangs

My buddy wants to buy one and wants to search for some for sale. I know there aren't alot of them on this site. Do any of you guys know of some specific forums for those cars where he or I can help him research and find one??

Thanks in advance.

Ryan

The very best forum, used to be this one;

But they moved it somewhere.

There is also this link for the Eleanor World Registry

Thanks for that. I was asking because I'd prefer to hear from some site members with experience on these sites. Maybe read the pro-touring.com vs lateral-g.net thread to understand why I would ask this question.

We all like what we like but ...... I'm not a fan of the look. And there is a lot of Mustang guys that feel the same way. A couple one offs were cool and different, but it just seems like the look didn't age well. Not to mention a lot of complaints about overall poor fit but then again that's true of most fiberglass.

Anyway I can't help on the forum stuff, just saying make sure your buddy is sure this is what he wants that's all. If he builds from scratch it is a big (ie bigger than you think) investment in bodywork and paint.

Good luck either way.

If he is looking for a Shelby Licensed GT 500 E I can provide him with all the info he needs and have a few cars for sale through owners. I've also got contacts with guys that hang out on the "Eleanor" websites and can get him lined up with them as well. I'm not much of a website guy so I don't know them off hand. Shoot me a PM or Email

Because I'm not 100% on that. He's a pretty well informed guy though and an awesome source of information. If nothing else, I'm sure he could point you in the right direction.

Thanks everyone for your reponses so far, looks like a liscenced GT-500-E may be a little over his budget. I will have to verify. If anyone knows of a well built clone for sale please let me know.

Make sure he goes and looks at it before he buys it. I've seen tons of Eleanor clones in Los Angeles, and the majority of them have been built to a "different" standard than most other cars at car shows. I don't know whether it is because the ones in L.A. were owned and built (commissioned to be built) by non car guys that didn't want to spend the time and money for quality paint and body work, but a lot of them are really disappointing in person. I've seen some nice ones, really nice ones, but it is usually the exception to the rule.

Unless its an Eleanor made for the movie, they are all clones, even the ones with a 'license' attached to it for marketing strategy.

But yes, if you buy an Eleanor, make sure the body work was done right, many of them the panels do not line up properly.
