Do I have a 8.5 GM 10 bolt
I pulled the numbers off the housing of a 10 bolt I wanna put in my 67 chevelle. When I looked it up it said it was a Heavy duty 10 bolt. What does this mean exactly? The numbers are CGG 1107B1

i've already looked up the #s but some say heavy duty next to it. Whats the difference between this and a light duty.

Could be from an El Camino or a similar commercial vehicle (wagon)...do the link and spring mounts line up with your Chevelle? Also if you have the original cover, 8.5's are usually dimpled. Can you post your casting number that is on the lower web?

I believe 68-72 is a bit longer than 67- down. If I find the link I'll post it.
