Finally Joined!
I'm looking for as much support as I can get because it has been hard to stay motivated. I'm looking forward to posting up as many pics and as much information of the build as I can. My build is extremely unconventional and sometimes seems like I'm in way over my head.
Thank you all for the support...hopefully no haters here! Some quick Build Specs: 1970 1/2 RS Camaro Art Morrison Max G Chassis/Heavily modified 621 Fuel Injected Dart Big M (972HP NA 1600HP on 2 stage NOS) 4" Exhaust 12 pt Cage More to come...Thanks |
Welcome Dan.
How do you plan to use that beast? :) |
With those specs, I really don't think you'll find any haters here...unless you put 26" wheels on it! :computer:
Oh, and... :ttiwop: |
1600hp, not shabby
|
Welcome Dan!
You may be over your head when the throttle is pinned with both systems spraying that beast. |
It's about time!! :hello:

Welcome back Dan!!! I might have some old pics of the car when you stopped on it, going to hunt them down and post some.

Trying to figure this whole Forum thing out...
It's getting late here and I just wanted to add a few photos. I will load this thread up with photos within the next couple of days. Forgive me, this is my first time using a forum based site. I'll get the hang of it. I just have to get all of my photos organized now. :computer: There are more pics and some renderings as well in my garage.
BTW...Thanks for all of the hospitality! Looking forward to talking with everyone! http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psaca7222e.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psfc1fe659.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps741a18ec.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps35fd598c.jpg |

Just for you man...haha What do you think? I'm kinda diggin the green and the chrome, which is weird for me. I started liking black parts, black wheels and carbon fiber after I had the motor built. The green and chrome might fit this build... BTW, What do you think about the reshaped contour of the back glass? Kris Horton designed it that way and I've liked it from day one. The one piece RS nose was my idea and he nailed it!:) http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psfce36d65.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3080c0a7.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps115be732.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps83c39a25.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psb0634e18.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psfb7dc09e.jpg |

621 CID Dyno Pics and Vids
Here's what came off the the dyno sheet:
:rules: N/A HP: 971.4 @ 6500RPM (91 oct) N/A TQ: 843.2 @ 5100RPM (91 oct) 1st Stage (Plenum) NOS HP: 1285.9 @ 5700RPM (+methanol) 1st Stage (Plenum) NOS TQ: 1209.1 @ 5500RPM (+methanol) 2nd Stage (Direct Port) NOS HP:1261.1 @6100RPM (+methanol) 2nd Stage (Direct Port) NOS TQ:1192.9 @5300RPM (+methanol) I know I know. 20" rear wheels won't put it down but I don't care. I'll have more than one set of wheels for the car. I decided to leave the rear brakes small enough to be able to put some meat under there. The car is not a purpose built or conventional build by any means, I just felt like building something different that will be fun to drive no matter what. Comments and questions are definitely welcome... http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psf52a57b6.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5f152896.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psb3588da4.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps802b55b3.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5f697631.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...pscb8db86c.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6145d92b.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...pscb7ccb03.jpg |

Dan, Welcome! Hellacious build right there. Wow. I've been overusing this new guns emoticon, but man you deserve it! :guns:
We are right up the road in Gilroy at my buddy Rich's shop. Hope to hook up with ya sometime. Quote:

And on with the build...
I started this build out of my garage and then first graduated to a 900 sq. ft. shop and finally to a 2,000 sq. ft where it will be for a while. Here are some of the previously unreleased garage shots...haha

Bracing up...
Installing the bracing. Wasn't quite sure what to do with the trunk sheet metal and the firewall so I left a lot of it rough.
http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps69a52d9c.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psfa0b647c.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...pscd6d2d46.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4f66f863.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psf60ef231.jpg |
I added some sheet metal to the inside of the rocker area before setting the body on the frame.
http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psae129712.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0348cea7.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps14622a2a.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psadaccb00.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf2da2d2.jpg |
Sizing up the frame.
This was the first go around with the frame when I first received it...it's changed a lot since. The wheels were built for test fitting...
This was all really rough just to see what I was working with. The body came back off shortly afterward. http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psdf1107f7.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5f3c421d.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psfd7b410b.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psc5cc7933.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psb4c65f09.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psc4a69ff0.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0676a0e4.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps059bdff2.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9b71817a.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psd9d7b3b8.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps47a86c21.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...psa2a3f2c4.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps129d266a.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8afb87b6.jpg http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0716b34d.jpg |

Oil Pan Mod
So, since I decided to put the biggest motor I could get my hands on in a frame that was built for a small block, I had to notch the pan to clear the lower control arm mount on the pass. side. I made the cut and prepped it and had my buddy weld in the new panels. It was a good fix and came out clean. The next plan is to cut it in half and take about an inch out of it for some piece of mind while going down the road...it hangs low.
