69/RS Update with Roadster shop chassis IRS
I been getting my 69/RS worked on since Dec 2011 at Poor Boys Hot Rods in La Habra,CA. About another 4 to 5 months left.
Here's a small write up on it from Chris Coddington http://hotrodsbyboyd.com/poor-boys-h...amaro-project/ Car was pretty much completely restored when I bought it and decided to get a few things done and call it complete. A few things turned into completely re-doing everything. I'm sure a lot of you guys can relate. New LS9 crate motor, Roadster shop IRS chassis, custom wheels, mini tubs, 14 inch willwoods, under dash hydro boost and the list goes on and on. Here is a few pictures before the build and during. Let me know what you think and any ideas. http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...f/DSC_0253.jpg http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...126_161752.jpg http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps25d7af39.jpghttp://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps932e1620.jpghttp://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...psd17d4973.jpghttp://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps1b2994ac.jpghttp://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...psac02c3e2.jpghttp://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps72229d7a.jpghttp://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps6802ce03.jpg The Roadster shop chassis was modified in the rear for the exhaust. They recommended running 2 1/2 inch over the top of the rear end above the 1/2 shafts for my set up but the clearance is not all that great and I needed duel 3 inch and was not going to fit. You can see in the corners were removed and modified for structure. http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps5691dee4.jpg |
Gonna be a cool build!!!!!

The hood, trunk and rear will be matte black and paint color is going to be Grigio Estoque. Comes on the Aventador Lambo. Keeping the vinal top for Nostalgia. http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps14a6b359.jpg |
killer build. looks like you had a nice starting point as well. love the fab work on the rear looks extremely wide and very well balanced, excellent choice in color. keep them pictures coming....

Sounds nice! I think the color combo will work out well. Not sure on the vinyl top but I'm open to the idea. I wouldn't leave the trim chrome or even bright though. It would need to be blacked out as well or match the gray.

Very nice build! Thanks for posting.
|
I'm digging it. Should be a great build.
|
Wow! You really did get carried away. My favorite saying whenever a buddy brings over a new acquisition: "Cool car. Let's take it apart."
|
I guess I meant to say I wanted to keep a little nostalgia.
I wasn't sure about the top but seems like everybody removes it and mine was in good shape so I though I would keep it. I look at it like building a custom home and leaving a couple pieces of reclaimed wood in there...lol. Quote:
