'Cuda at Roadster Shop
Wanted to set up a thread on one of our newest builds - one for the Mopar fans!
Our customer came to us with a nice basic brief. He wanted a clean and simple, purposeful looking, low, fast, mean sounding, badass Cuda. We will be doing the '70 style grille and horizontal taillights with the twin scoop hood. The plan is a neaten up and tidy of many of the original features: tucking the bumpers in, gaps, a rear lower valance treatment, some cool wheels and big Brembos to slow down the 6.4 Hemi. Naturally, awesome handling was a key feature he was looking for, so we will be putting our FAST TRACK 'Cuda chassis into action. This is the basic direction for the build. We will be playing around with a few ideas on whether to add a graphic on the side, wheel choices and tailpanel treatments. Here's a couple of ideas we are looking at for now. Stay tuned! http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8231/8...5e57240f_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8250/8...fa27deb1_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8090/8...00911ab7_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8248/8...20be4952_b.jpg |
...and the body before stripping. Seems to be a good solid candidate on initial impressions.

Chris,
Looking forward to this one. Are you also considering using a black stripe? Not sure how it would look, but the red in image #1 could still be used as a thin outline of the stripes. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps13a77610.jpg |
Shame you're axe-ing the round tailights, always liked those.

Man that thing looks savage in the rendering. I'll be plugged into this one.
|
I really hope you go with the top exhaust tips. The others look nice but those are different and very clean like the rest of the car.

Thanks for the kind words!
The body is out at the stripper right now. We are just getting underway with the frame rail build and then onto the chassis. Should have the chassis wrapped up about the time the body comes back. Then start the build process from there. These cars have such great lines that it won't take much to make it a really sharp car. Probably not going to get too crazy with the fab work on this build, but it will definitely have some cool stuff to set it apart. |

The body is out getting acid dipped right now. It should be back in a few weeks. We will get some pics posted as soon as the build gets underway. We might have jumped the gun on posting pics of this one!

Any progress?

The car actually comes back today from being stripped, so we will know what we have to work with here shortly. Meanwhile, the owner settled on this color/wheel and rear end style.

The renedering looks great. The grey on grey should be sweet. Do you guys media blast or chemical strip the projects?
|
Some updates on the 'cuda: the body came back in good shape with only minor repair work needed. (Why cant they all be like this!)
