Boston marathon
Condolences and prayers to all those affected by this cowardly act. So sad to see all of those innocent people who perished and the ones that survived have they're lives scarred for ever. It is truly just horrific to think that this can happen anywhere at any point.
As of now it seems the origin of the terrorists is unknown whether domestic or foreign but I say cancel all student visas from Middle East. We as citizen have to do our part and stay alert and vigilant when out especially at events such as these, and stop bitching and complainting about security point measures. I'm personally all for more security especially at airports. |
Yes, Prayers to the fallen and injured.
No, on the student Visa's idea. Its like anything else, If criminals want to do something they will find a way. Don't put restrictions on honest people and deprive this country of its ability to expand minds. "We maybe free but evil feeds us fear and we embrace it". I think there will be a need for appologies after the truth come out. |

More security isn't the answer. It might make you feel safer, but it's not the answer. Airport security is a joke! It keeps out guns, knifes, etc like a chain link fence keeps the wind out. If you only knew the kind of crap that gets found on airliners. If people really want positive results, they are going to have to tolerate profiling and some door kicking. Americans don't want that though and say it's not fair. Enough said |
Agreed Curtis.
Consider the amount of security the Boston Marathon had in place....at least from what I've seen on video it was a big number. Public safety cannot deliver at the level they market themselves and thus people have a false sense of personal safety. Respectfully, maybe this is the event that will change the sheep's perception of public and personal safety. |
I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein will co-sponsor a bill to outlaw bombs of all kinds.
I'm truly sorry for those affected... this shouldn't happen to anyone. Ever. I don't think any normal thinking human could understand why someone would want to do stuff like this. |

There are always nut cases out there ( Connecticut , Colorado theater , mcveigh ) that will find a way. it's just happening more often than ever. Any small measure is another step in the right direction. I'm personally not US born but now a US citizen, been through the profiling etc side if it. on a recent trip I was stopped three different times during my trip and pretty much stripped searched. I was completely ok with it I see the big picture. If people really want positive results, they are going to have to tolerate profiling and some door kicking. Americans don't want that though and say it's not fair. X2 on that There is no right measure or easy answer to this problem, as far as security nothing is 100% But I would agree more is better. Enough said[/QUOTE] |
Prayers sent to all involved!! I'll keep my mouth shut on what should be done to whoever these chicken s**t low life cowards that did this are, but gasoline a tire and matches come to mind
|
Its a tough call, terrorists will find a way, metaphorically the government might prefer them coming through the front door where they can be documented and tracked/screened,rather than climbing through the windows and roof and digging under etc.

Its hard to stop a determined individual or individuals from doing something like this, especially in the U.S. where our freedoms are paramount. |
Until we know more on who did this, speculating on who did this is well......:headspin:
No rational Human would do this because they would not want it done to them or their loved ones... This is the world nowdays...Sad for those involved and killed or injured... But to jump to conclusions based on "media" reporting ? a.k.a. Student Visa is not right... Let the investigation play out first... |

What we need is ordinary people to be vigilant and accept that this is a violent world we live in. Just being a US citizen makes you a target. Profiling and storm trooper door kicking is never the answer. Tax paid criminals with a badge is a very bad idea. All the government has to do is lable you as a terrorist and sick the IRS on you. |
Interesting video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=axQtAFtmtVA

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the OKC bombing and Waco attack... just FYI.

Speaking of poor planning and leadership...I can't believe how the media is FUBAR-ING all the information which could potentially screw up investigations and prosecution. Ive already heard the black duffle bag being referenced as an assult bag. PLEASE!!! |

maybe they were warned but didnt tell the public? |
Looks like it was two brothers originally from Chechen. One is dead, the 19 year old is on the run. He had better hope the FBI finds him before Bostonians do. Those folks don't play.

Immigrant teenager eludes heavily equipped and armed grown-ups and locks down major US city. Seriously? #2ndamendmentrights

I'm from MA and have family all over and have 5 cousins in Boston. Its surreal,
the city was shut down, very few people on the road and no one walking the streets. Everyone in Boston wanted this guy caught. Have you seen the video of the gun fight. It was like a war zone. |
|
He better live and be water-boarded.
How many cops and equipment does it take to catch a 19 year old? So many that they trip all over themselves and lose contact in the first daylight encounter? |

If I was the father of that little boy and his sister and wife I would be looking for a way to get in the hospital and take his legs with a dull AXE

Greg, taken without Miranda rights given? Couldn't this have implications in his trial?

Excellent police work for sure. But....really dude? We're all Americans here.
We want the same thing. This is an internet forum, ya know? We discuss stuff like this. Learn from each other. At times share a little grief. You and Greg are experts for sure, but Sieg gets a pass on this one. And thank you for your service. |
