So I love my Trans AM and Trans AMs in general but..

I have a sickness, I look at Trans AMs constantly and just pulled the trigger on another one yesterday. A all original '78 that I plan on driving, I'll post pictures up when it gets here. I was just looking at some Youtube videos of some '78 Trans AMs, I couldn't believe some of the crap I saw, is this what people think of me when I'm driving mine?

What's up with Trans Am garage burnouts?

My buddy Paul has a pretty sick one he posted on this site:

I'm sure he gets tired of the Burt Reynolds jokes though ;)

Steve maybe you and Paul could do some garage burnouts to fit in? ;)

Owned a few dozen in my day. Still have some.

Come to think about it, I went and looked at a different 74 before I bought mine and the guy did a burnout in his car port with another car parked right in front of it to show me how good the "400 with a little cam in it" ran.

words cannot do justice here......LOL

Year One Bandit Edition

The Prince of Dubai has a Year One built Bandit Edition Trans Am (that has a Hydratech system in it of course!), so StreetKing shares his love with with a high end international notary.

Hi, my name is _____ and I have an addiction :shakehead:

It killed me just recently to put down a '79 Trans Am T-top car for its mechanicals - it was just too cancerous to save (I swear - really!!!). The 403 Olds is going in place of the (pathetic and truly shameful) 307 in my personal '86 442 Olds for a MUCH NEEDED 100 cube shot in the arm. The subframe, trans and rear end went to a local street rod project (cool '46 Willy's build!). Yes - the front steering knuckles are also going into the 442 in place of the POS factory 'stuff'...

My highschool days were a '77 T/A with a 400 poncho 4 speed, T-tops, leather jacket, bleach blonds (ahem - nuff said!)

I still have a '72 or '73 ? T/A front valance sitting in the rafters of my mom's house - I chuckle everytime I visit and look up there, as nobody else knows or cares that it exists up there

Go StreetKing go! :snapout:

I feel your pain. I too am a Trans Am fan having owned four myself, and five Firebirds... I am also totally OK with owning more, too.

I have a hard time not picking up quality projects when I find them out here. This is the dry midwest after all. I just have to keep reminding myself I do already own one even if it is 1000 miles away right now. These cars definitely have a weird stigma attached to them. The quality of the car itself speaks volumes about the owner though. Kind of like tire marks in the garage.

It's Alabama! What did you expect? :D As a Georgia native, I can not let that jab pass by unused. I'd be insulting my birthright or something.

Shmoov69 05-02-2013 09:20 PM

Well, I gotta say that you will be growing a 'stache next wont ya?!?!? LOL!! Burt rules man!!
Don't forget to post your burnout videos!! :trophy-1302:

Hey, I resemble that remark. We like our 2nd gens and good College Football around here.

Your other post made me remember this one, SW. So did the 78 arrive yet?

Yes it did.. Very nice original car but, I'm love with my '76.. I'm probably going to sell the '78 and replace it with a white/blue stripe '70-'72 T/A..
