Powertour 2013 ?
 

First- are there any other Lat-G'ers that will be attending the Powertour launch event in Arlington? Maybe we can meet up for lunch or later on for a beer.

Second- This is the first time I've attended a PowerTour Event. I'm bringing a client and his just completed vehicle. He is flying into town for the delivery and we will be driving it back down to Florida. Unfortunately heading a different direction than the PowerTour. Is there a showcar corral or somewhere to park nicer vehicles. This isn't exactly something I'd want to leave in a parking lot.

All cars park in the same area because they are all "show" cars.

There is no special parking for anyone. That's one of the big reasons why people like this event. It doesn't matter what you drive, everyone is treated as an equal. Sometimes they might have a designated parking area blocked off for the Long Haulers, so then you are "only" parking with about 1200 other people.

Buddy and I are flying down friday-sun and will be at the show all day Saturday. I guess this is our new way of doing the power tour now that everyone is married with kids, can't get away for long road trips anymore.

Its one big parking lot, no special parking.

You can register for the day only. This would allow parking with the other registered participants and keep you from the spectator only parking.

I will be long hauling it for the first time.

I'll be there later friday afternoon. We are driving in from SC and Long Hauling back to NC. I can't wait!!!:D

Thanks for the input on the parking... Car is still in body shop purgatory. 3 windshields have shown up broken so the delivery has been delayed.

Somebody tell me about the Memphis stop on Tuesday? Is it a big car show? Are there vendors? I guess it's late afternoon? Anybody know where?

Every stop is a BIG car show and all the vendors go to each and every stop

I spotted some nice cars out there yesterday. A handful of protouring appearing cars that I had never seen on this site or the other. Makes me wonder if there is a secret PT scene out there that I havent found yet. I wish I had taken pictures but for the most part, the cars were parked a little too close together to get any good shots anyway.

I wish I was doing the Long Haul or at least part of it this year. It might be a while before they head back to Arlington again. Im going to have to start a HRPT savings fund for the next event.

On another note, a photog/advertising guy for Vintage Air took a couple shots of my car and wants to use it for their Ford Magazine advertisements. Pretty excited about that. :hapdance:
