Laguna Seca - Speed Ventures
Any one else going to the Speed Ventures track day at Laguna Seca, June 28-30? I signed up for Sunday.

I am seriously considering going.
|
Wow! You guys should do this because it is rare to get a sound limit of over 91db unless you're with a big time group of some kind. I hope this is not just a one time thing. Great opportunity. Wish I would be ready.
|
Matt you should seriously go! When else are we going to get to run on this track without sound restrictions??
Any one else up for it? We should all go and make Dave jealous :D |

Did i read that right? a $10 fee? thats it to run the track? am i missing something?
I'm installing an LS as we speak and it may fire tomorrow, and picking up a 6pt cage on Sun...man if i can get things sorted out in time.....but seriously, $10? that shouldnt be legal... |

I think the $10 is the gate fee per person. |

I also see you cannot just sign up for Sat. Has to be Fri or Sun only or a combo of Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun. This is the one and only Laguna Seca after all. :snapout: |
i didn't see a max number of entries, but still looks like alot of people running...
|
Hitting the road early tomorrow morning and stopping by Hotchkis's open house on the way up!
|
Good luck out there. Be Safe.

Saturday morning, my buddy Dale and I hit the road for 750 miles across the AZ/CA desert, visiting Hotchkis Performance, and cruising the PCH up to Monterey, CA. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was the final destination where Speed Ventures set up an open track day. It's clear why MRLS is one of the most famous tracks in the country - not a single boring corner, breathtaking elevation changes, and beautiful scenery. After 4 sessions, I whittled my time down to the 1:56.1 range. On Monday, we shot straight through the desert back to Phoenix. All of this in my '67 Camaro pulling a small trailer without air conditioning. It did not have a single mechanical problem all weekend, and many of the towns we drove through had highs of 115+. Don't let anyone tell you old cars can't be reliable. Pics/vids to come shortly. Teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58dbleUOMLQ |
Awesome

Oh yeah, sounds like a great trip. You're a real pro touring guy Tom. Not just a guy who CAN "tour"....
Can't wait to see the rest of the video!:Tomcat: |

What a great trip! That had to feel pretty good making it through all that with no troubles.
|
Wow! Does that look like fun.
It looked like you got some good clean laps in session 4. The car sounds really good. Thanks for sharing. If they could have RTTC there... Regards -DEC |
Tom -- had to be a blast -- best day with the car on the track ever I am gonna guess?
|
I rode Laguna two months ago for the first time. The most crashes at a track day I've seen.... but wow.... what a fun track!!!!
I'm looking forward to trying it with 4 wheels!! |

Now I just need to figure out how to get on that track more often. |
Speed Ventures is having another 105 db track day out there I think sometime in September.
