I thought it was about time I put together a build thread.
I bought the car from the US about 4 years ago. Long story short bad buy.'
It looked good in the pictures, but we all know how they can lie.

As it was when I bought it.

OK Rick, I promise not to keep things :secret:

The engine is a 440 RHS tall deck block, Ozmo manifold, dry sump and all top self internals.

:thankyou: Sieg, I hope to get it back to the paint shop, while we are in the States in July and hopefully finished by the end of the year.

I was just wondering if you were going to run that suspension as a 5 link? I know AM offer both the 3 and 4 link option, but is there a reason to run 5?

Just curious.

Andrew

Andrew, it"s the same setup that was being used in Project Unfair, I believe there is only the 2 of them. I will use the 4 link for the drags and the 3 link for everything else.

Dang Greg....way to grab everyone's attention! :D

Crazy nice and I can't wait to see more!!

GregWeld 06-03-2013 08:13 AM

Oh yeah! That'll work!

Thanks for FINALLY posting.... You and I must share that little hold out gene.... I'm big on posting but not big on posting what I'm doing. LOL

You know -- I have to say -- that so many of these cars end up with a complete re-do after being bought when they "looked" okay.... but what we have to remember is that for many many years these cars weren't worth towing to the junkyard... and then there were a few years of "recovery" where they were still just cheap cars... so the repairs were commensurate with their values. It's only now that we can put the proper repairs to them because they're worth the cost and effort. Glad you saved another one.

Ron in SoCal 06-03-2013 10:16 AM

WHen I saw the title of the thread I thought there was an emergency!
You should rename the car 'holdout', lol.

Congrats Greg. Beautiful car

Over the top impressive mate.

Regarding the core support - was it purchased or custom fabricated?

...........I have nightmares about getting my car blasted. :D

Vince@Meanstreets 06-03-2013 10:11 PM

nice work greg, what media did you use for the undercarrige? Unusual to see the spot weld color after blasting.

cjfirstgen 06-03-2013 11:12 PM

Very nice! Look forward to seeing the progress.

Thanks Vince, We used Soda back then, but we don't use it any more, the car was completely re blasted at a later date, using a system that I developed, called the Diamond blast system.
