Project "PullingOut" 69 Camaro

Where to start…This is my first true build. I bought the car sight unseen from Ebay. The owner did NOT know his wife posted it for sale with a phone number to call and after 30 minutes of convincing him he needed to sell it, it was mine. I bought it within 30 minutes of it being posted for sale with no buy it now. The car was almost rust free except for a small marble size hole in the rear window channel. It was an original vinyl top car as well. All original panels except for the front sheet metal and a small patch panel on the left quarter panel that was done years ago. The car was being worked on by a shop 1,000 miles away from home and NOT to my standards. I pulled my car out of the shop just before any real damage/work could be done hence the project name “Pulling Out.” Pulling Out is always the best option in life if you have any doubts. :lmao: When it was time to pick the shop to take over my build there was no doubt in my mind, I was taking it to American Muscle Restoration in Cleveland,TN. John is very meticulous about his cars and takes the same care with his customers cars. John has been on budget throughout the process and on time as well. I could talk on and on about the work they do but I will let the pictures speak for themselves…

Nice car to start with,I like your parts list, great start.

CornHusker4Life 07-08-2013 08:22 PM

John wasted NO time getting to work on the car, after the game plan was established. No crazy body mods just side marker delete and a little massaging here and there. The car was "put together" by the previous shop and it was John and I's decision to take it apart and make sure nothing was overlooked.

The tailpan had to be cut out and pulled back 1/4" to make it more smooth/correct and not just filled in with a bunch of filler

Looks great jarrod! I appreciate the feedback, we love to work on Camaros and especially those where the owner wants it to be nice and done right! Won't be long and we will be cruising from Tennessee to nebraska to deliver the car to you!

So if I'm reading this correctly, the car is obviously black and the interior with be orange houndstooth? I like that idea. Glad the car is moving along nicely. Good job guys.

Thanks. When I bought the car the previous owner had already purchased a complete Orange houndstooth interior, seat covers already installed and everything. I may go custom leather if there is any $ left over but if not the houndstooth is going in.

Che70velle 07-12-2013 01:33 PM

Very cool!

Car looks great. I can now see where John's muscle factory is :D

You guys Rock!

aggie91 07-12-2013 01:56 PM

Man that black looks good. I think you should stay with the Orange Houndstooth interior. I don't think I have ever seen that combo before and it would look killer!

paint really looks good, hard to beat that black, these guys don't fool around, you will be riding soon.

Rick D 07-13-2013 06:30 PM

Looking good Jarod!! Are you hoping to have it out this year??

WSSix 07-13-2013 07:21 PM

At the very least, I'd put the orange pieces in the car before making the decision. I think it would look good but it may be too much orange once it's in the car. Anyway, carry on. John and his guys obviously aren't fooling around.

Rick, the plan is to have it on the road this year as long as we don't get an early snowfall in Nebraska.

Trey, I worry the orange will be too much as well. I will definitely put the pieces in there and post some pics for opinions. I also do not want the car to feel like it is a Halloween theme with the black/orange.

The combo sounds bold. I like bold:D

You have to decide for yourself if its love or hate. Don't put to much weight in everyone else's opinion unless you are headed to the auction block.

Killer progress in such a short window.
