My Latest T/A :)

So I just picked up a very nice 70.5 4 speed. I actually bought it about a month ago. Unfortunately it is a numbers matching car, but I don't care! My plans are to do a complete DSE 4 link rear, DSE subframe up front, 6 piston brakes, 6 speed, cage, change the interior to black and a LSX motor. I want to run it in a few Good Guys Auto X's and maybe some track time. I think it will be pretty kool to roll up to Circuit of America and unload a '70 Trans AM instead of my Ferrari:) Eric@ Griffith's metal shaping is finishing up on my '72 now, then we will make a plan. He has some other projects to get done, so it will be a few months til I can get started. For now, I just put installed some QA1's, DSE rear springs and 17" ralleys. I will start a build thread when we get going.

That looks great! :D I love those Wheels too!

But why not keep it Pontiac Powered? That would be even cooler in the Ferrari mix :D And those Wheels too, then it is just a "Stock" Trans Am.. :D He..He..

Those 70`s Trans Ams has maybe the coolest dash thats ever factory made :)

I don't think those old Pontiac motors can handle much road racing..

Ummgawa 07-15-2013 04:23 PM

That is one wicked looking TA SW. Wicked.

He..He.. I sort of agree, an LS is a much smarter and more logical Choice. And easier to road race because of superior "everything". It is "race ready" Stock.

Roger Bolliger from Switzerland races a Aluminium Butler engine in europe. :D And you do already have Pontiac engine Mounts... :P He..He.. :P

May I ask how you found this beauty? I love that car.

okyankee 07-15-2013 07:11 PM

I thought you was dropping a ls9 into a g8? ;)

Ron in SoCal 07-15-2013 07:18 PM

Another home run, I think

carbuff 07-15-2013 08:19 PM

Dang, Eric is going to become a professional 2nd gen builder if you keep this up! My little project pales in comparison to the nice cars you keep sending him! :)

Can't wait to check this one out too...

srh3trinity 07-15-2013 09:41 PM

You could get an ls3 in a G8 GXP so that is what I will tell Poncho purists about the stroker Ls3 in my Firebird.

Thanks, early Trans Ams are like crack to me! Eric is the man, if you see how he tackles every job, you will understand.

WSSix 07-17-2013 06:57 PM

Nice! You going to keep it stock paint wise with the white and blue?

There's worse things to be known for I guess. :D

Stuart Adams 07-17-2013 07:32 PM

Stuff some 335's up front on that bad boy..

Code510 07-17-2013 08:17 PM

This is a wicked ride. The white and blue combination is my favorite!

carbuff 07-17-2013 08:39 PM

I got to see the car last night, it's looking really nice! And yes, this is the one (or one of the ones ;) ) he just purchased.

Thanks Bryan, but the one you saw is my '72 that Eric is finishing. I don't think you have seen the '70 yet..

Not on your own there Bryan

Looks like I'm going to have to visit every 12 months just to keep up

srh3trinity 07-19-2013 04:31 PM

If I could just get my Firebird to this guy's shop out in Texas, SW would probably forget whether or not it was one of his many second gens and just sign the check for the build.

carbuff 07-19-2013 04:34 PM

Sadly, that hasn't worked for me yet... :peepwall:

This engine at 800hp would sure look good under the hood of that trans am. Butler Performance and Tin Indian have a lot of nice stuff to look at and there are a lot of new Pontiac heads on the market. Food for thought!
