71 Nova, Full Frame, 4.25 ride height, By Hunter

Hey guys, my name is Brett Hunter from Hunter Body Shop. It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I thought I’d post our latest build. I’m 25 now and this is the 71 nova I built and we debuted at Columbus goodguys this year. It's been in the works for a couple of years now,in between other projects. Here is some of the specs…
Frame is a custom built perimeter frame I made from 2x3 box tubing. It runs down the inside of the rocker panels so that I could build dropped floors. In the past I have done some with flat floors above the frame and I didn’t like how I sat in the cars, so I dropped the floors and ran the exhaust inside the transmission tunnel to create more ground clearance. The total ground clearance is 4.25 inches. Nothing hangs below that, and that is the rocker height. -The front is tubular control arms similar to Mustang ll and I used Wilwood Pro spindles, and a power rack. -Rear is a 4-link setup with a panhard bar. 9” backbraced rearend. -Brakes are Wilwood. Front is 14” with 6 piston calipers and rear is 13” with 4 piston calipers. Wilwood tri-pedal setup. -Wheels are custom cut Billet wheels. 19.8.5 front and 20x12 rear. Michelin tires TONS of custom metal work. -Rear wheels were moved back 1.5” to eliminate that altered wheel base look that I thought these Novas always had. -2010 Camaro roof skin. -Custom built hood with a center piece that is vented. -Custom rockers -69 camaro rear bumper sectioned into the body -Custom rear valance -Custom front bumper and valance with fog lights -Cowl built to continue the cowl hood to the windshield. -Flush mounted glass -Full cage (almost completely hidden by interior.) -Shaved handles and sidemarkers, handles are corvette touch pads nowl. -Side vent that is functional rear brake cooling ducts. -Custom sheetmetal exhaust tip integrated into the valance. -Lots of metalwork in the engine bay with functional air inlet scoop. -Engine is set back several inches. The front of the engine is behind center of the wheels and the car feels nicely balanced but I haven’t had time to adjust anything. -Qa1 coilovers -Engine is a built LS1 making 475 -500 hp. 6-Speed tremec -PPG custom mixed colors I used newer nova doors to eliminate the wing vents. The interior is all leather and suede. The dash is custom built from sheetmetal then wrapped. The dash gauge cluster is from Dakota digital. These things are very cool! They have a lot of cool features like top speed recall, rpm recall, ¼ mile time and speed, etc… There is a ton more but that catches most of the highlights. Hey guys, sorry I haven't replied for a while. I've been busy and haven't checked this for a while and I have missed some posts. I will try to sort through the pictures I have of the build and post some of them soon. I haven't been to any other shows with the car since goodguys Columbus but I hope to go to several next year with it.
