First Classic - Hey Guys!

Hey guys/gals I'm in the process of receiving my first classic car, a 1968 Camaro! My first car was american and since then I've been addicted to BMW's, both street and race cars. I got out of car racing a few years ago and made the switch over to kart racing, what a blast.

Anyway the wife also loves classic cars so we figured now is the time. My Camaro is being picked up from CA today and should arrive to me early next week!

As soon as I take delivery I plan on doing a photo shoot so I'll post some pics then. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and hitting up a bunch of events to get to know everyone.

For now here is a pic from the seller:

Cya around! :headspin:

Welcome,

Glad to see the car stay in the Lat-g family.

The BMW wheels were the hook huh!? :D

That car has a great and unique look and the owner is a great guy to boot!

Where's the car going to reside?

redefined 08-19-2013 06:56 PM

Sieg, you know the car and owner? Nice! I'm sure I'll be asking a boat-load of questions in the near future. I already have a lot of parts picked out to slowly order, haven't quite decided on a motor setup but I know it'll be supercharged that's for sure. I'm a road race guy so those are the type of parts that'll be ordered.

Kinda funny, I did notice the BMW wheels right off the bat

I'm just north of Atlanta.

The previous owner is one of the gang here.

Toss in an LSA motor with close ratio T56 Magnum, serious brakes, good front geometry, serious shocks, tub the rear for decent sized tires, Recaro's, cage, and, and, and..........:G-Dub:

Check the stickies at the top of the Chassis and Suspension forum written by Ron Sutton, lots of good handling information there. Numerous ways to make them carve corners for any reasonable or unreasonable budget. :D

Nice! I'm up in your neck of the woods all the time. I run up at AMP a lot, including their race series.

Well it's now cold here in GA - first snow they say COULD be tonight. Not enough to do anything but people here will go to the grocery store anyway. All the milk and bread will be gone tomorrow, haha.

With that being said I'm tossing my motor up for sale in hopes of going LS. EEKKKKK

Haha. FS post to come shortly.

I need to check and see if there is a local section on the forum, I'd really like to hit up some get togethers if there are any.

Must have missed the 1st time around - Welcome!

While I have given up Racing, I also have a Racing Kart that I try to drive as often as I can!

No way! I race karts currently. Small world. Next race for me is WKA Daytona the end of Dec.

TheJDMan 11-27-2013 03:58 PM

Is that a 68 or 67? It has a 68 grille and doors but it has 67 tail lights and no side marker lights.

WSSix 11-28-2013 09:16 AM

Welcome, Matt. Some how I missed this thread the first time around also. Glad to see Jerry's car stay around and move closer to where I hope to be soon too. Enjoy!

Thanks, moving down here to GA?

Yeah I like the car, just posted the motor/tranny up for sale, heh!

JD that pic rocks!

I'm from GA. Born in Savannah and lived in Athens for 11 years. Left in 2010 for Colorado and ended up in Kansas. I can't wait to get back. I'm looking for jobs in the SE mountain region not just GA in particular.

Your 1st Post said that you got out of Car Racing, so that's what I was referring to.

Good Luck @ WKA Daytona! :trophy-1302:
