A few Interior pics of my 68' camaro with single din radio and 2013 Camaro console
 

Here are a few quick pics of my 68' Camaro that I am just finishing up with a LS/T56 swap and had the interior redone (traded out work)

I used the factory 68 Camaro center dash panel with a aftermarket Metra single DIN mount molded it in and had a Local company here (Sin City Hydrographics) dip it in black carbon fiber, then used both 220grit sandpaper and scotchbrite pad to give the perimeter the "brushed" aluminum look to match the Twist Machine shifter handle for the T56

The center console is from a 2013 Camaro, but I took my old Autometer 4 gauge pod from the stock 68-9 center console and fab'd & molded it into the Gen 5 Camaro 6spd shifter bezel (had a tray with no gauges) filled in where the factory traction control switch went and drilled two holes for my heated seat switches
Then had the crew @ Sin City hydrodip them

The seats were recovered in black leather and suede by Jose @ ABC Discount Upholstery here in Vegas, he also did the console "pouche" where the factory e-brake would be

they started as a set of Hunsaker seats that were purchased new from another member years ago form a cancelled project, then where completely taken down and redone in leather and suede

That 2013 console is a natural in there! Nice job. :thumbsup:

I had a couple people ask about fitting it to my dash

I just scribed it in to fit tighter to the underside and then scribed the rh side panel to fit cleanly around the Vintage Air unit
The lh side was left untouched, since it hides the engine pcm and relay box

It seems that I may have started this trend of using the 5th Gen console, back when I did mine in early 13'
I am always getting pm's/ emails on the install (both here on Lat-G and Pro-touring.com)

To answer a few questions that I get alot:


The center console gauge panel was made by me
It started life as a "non'gauge" console plate w/ coin tray & rubber insert
I cut that whole section out, removed the factory traction control switch and modified a Autometer 4 gauge pod for a 68-69 Camaro/ Nova console
Used fiberglass mat & resin to fill in and blend all together, finished with lightweight body filler
Drilled two holes for seat heater switches ( for the two days that it gets cold here in Las Vegas LOL!)

Then had it hydro-dipped in a black "carbon fiber" pattern

The center dash panel, started as my oem woodgrain dash piece
I bought a Metra "Turbo kit" #99-9222 (Volvo multi kit 75-94)
I used one of the angle single DIN mounts, made small brackets to mount to center dash panels, secured, then trimmed out rear of panel to clear stereo head unit mounting sleeve
before mounting sleeve, mocked up dash panel to car dash and marked for head unit hole/ clearance
cut out dash (donated original stereo mounting section to a buddy doing a concurs resto)
re-mocked up all pieces, verified fitment & installed head unit, then used fiberglass mat/ resin again, to "blend in" the single DIN mount to dash panel, finished with light weight filler, smoothed out, then to hydrographics
The surrounding "chrome" actually polished aluminum, was masked off during hydro dipping and then carefully "sanded" with 220 grit wet/ dry sandpaper then with a scotchbrite pad, to give the surrounding trim the same "grain" as the center section of the Momo steering wheel

It is factory rear location ( T56, not a Magnum) with a modified MGW shifter (offset mount)
