TESLA S at EBMC
Our latest, more unique build we have going on....
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps3a4091cd.jpg |
That's going to be interesting.
|
No way! That is outstanding. Excited to see this unfold Steve.
I like the owner's mentality especially. :D |
That seems unbelievably expensive...
Did the customer buy a new model-s to gut and build? |
This is yet another cool build! Fire away with updates! :bigun2:
|
Well IMO that tops chopping up a rare Mopar or sticking an LS9 in Mustang. :D

Holy crap!
Did you guys actually buy all the panels of a real Tesla and are building from completely scratch? Started as a desk???? I cheated and looked at your photobucket. I should come look at that, if you let people come by and look at projects......... |

We were commissioned by a client who is very involved with Tesla Motors to transform a Tesla bodyshell into a reception desk with a 6 week turnaround time :confused59: We recieved a Brand new Tesla shell from the assembly line in bare aluminum and the work began...... http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psdfa0f1da.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps6d633c73.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps208da50b.jpg |
Daryl enjoyed this part the best...
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8c614390.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps36965339.jpg well so much for a 2013 Tesla S! http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psa8cefb59.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9cd45107.jpg |
This out to be cool.
|
It would be cool With a Tesla With an V8, With an Big Block, but only an 396 With an Rochester 2G to keep it environmentally friendly you know... All Iron of course..
The air cleaner would read 396 Turbo-Miler in green or something. Or maybe 396 Non-Smiler :( He..He.. :D |
That is awesome.........2 funny though, I looked at the pictures in reverse order and thought you started with a desk from the factory, took measurements, ordered the factory metal, and were making an LS powered Tesla for a client:lol:
|
You're a real bummer Steve!
Cool project. |
Although factory door handles are really sleek on these cars we filled that area for a more sleek appearance
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...pseead9799.jpg It was very interesting to see howw these cars are built. Its amazing the amount of aluminum used for EVERTHING. the only exeptions were the steel reinforcements on the b -pillars. http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psf0dfc709.jpg This contour took some time to establish the proper line, it would look completely different depending on which angle you looked at it. The 3 rectangles channels on the rocker are factory http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psbfdb869c.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0df0f08c.jpg We used factory front hubs to mount wheels, which dont support any weight, they barely touch the ground http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps56a2a40e.jpg The interior panels were fabbed from fiberglass http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psfeebcbdf.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0077507f.jpg |
A coffee bar under the hood?
|
That's really cool!
|
All of this has me wondering, are Teslas exempt from having to get smogged?
|

Let me be the first to tell you.... You guys are f***** nuts!!!
Dibs on the stock door handles! LOL |

Some wiring and fitting before delivery...........
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps391113af.jpg Midnight day of delivery.... http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps96173ebc.jpg I thought someone said this was going to fit through the door no problem! http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb8a36b1b.jpg After complete dissasembly, reassembly begins........ http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd6adb87e.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps44589db6.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps64714c90.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psdd5c3231.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps622d02bf.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps5a2dc0c4.jpg http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psbd0e6923.jpg And thats our 6 week Tesla build (the next thread will be of a running car, probably a Camaro, I promise!) |
Nice work Steve! Sweet looking desk.
|
nice :bump:
|
Nicely done with the decoy first picture. I was so confused...
|
Nicely done. Makes me want to be a receptionist, haha!
|
Your first image is not far off from rumored plans with the Fisker Karma
http://a.img-zemotoring.com/media/ne...sker-karma.jpg The Karma is dirt cheap now and there are a number available even on ebay. http://www.wired.com/autopia/2013/01/vlp-destino/ |
I thought Fisker filed for bankruptcy?
|
I really like the lines of the Fisker.
I did drive get to drive a friend's Model S today for about 40 miles... man that thing don't need an LS from 0-60. That instant torque is pretty incredible. :D |
Wonder what you guys could do with my old mustang? Looks great!
|
WOW, that is too cool:thumbsup:
|
Who would've thought EBMC would have an article in "inside EV's"? (thats "electric vehicles" to all you polluters!!)
