Any Cutlass fans out there??
Hello all,
I have a 1971 Olds Cutlass "S" auto-x project being done in 442 tribute guise. Body is off and currently performing frame mods to allow up to 345's (20") in the rear. I can weld and have some fabricating skills, but I am finding I have a LOT to learn! :drowninga: I have been on PT for quite a while and a friend suggested joining here for a change. So here I am. Looking forward to learning all the skills required to make this a great project and providing help when I can, although right now, pretty much everyone probably knows more than I do! :waveflag: I am having Kris Horton (Cars by Kris) do a rendering for me to help me visualize the end result. I am not good at drawing... I have trouble with stick people. :bang: I will be happy to share when it is done. I have a few pics of the current state of my cutlass. If anyone is interested I can post but I am not organized enough at this point to start a build thread. :sieg:  |
Those are great cars. Welcome to the site.

Thank you all for the words of welcome and the offers of help. Much appreciated.
Here are a few pics of the current status but they are somewhat dated. The frame has been straightened is now ready for the boxing and notching kit to be installed. All minor floor work is now complete on the body and awaiting minitub installation. Coming to the end of my vacation and had hoped to have more done but the frame notching is more involved than I had anticipated but it's all good. Slow and steady will :gitrdun: I hope to see a rough draft from Kris soon. I will pass along upon receipt. |
Cool cars. One day, mine will be finished!

Welcome, cool car, 70-72 cutlasses is one of my all-time favorite cars. :)

Went to high school in the early 70's with 2 brothers whose Dad was an Olds dealer. Was super impressed by the then new 4-4-2 455 blue on white convertible they proudly showed up in from time to time at school.
And it seemed they really enjoyed rubbing our noses in that reality too...lol |

Once the autocrosser is done, the 'vert will be frameoff restored as a 442 w30 tribute since they only built 113 of them. But I gotta get my auto-x jones taken care of first.  |

at the same time dad had a custom ordered Cutlass 350,4spd,3.90 gears, when I was 14 had a 64 F-85, nice car, but the motor was bad, one day I want to duplicate my grandfathers 442, I already got the motor!! I'm a olds fan!!! |
