Very cool, let see some pictures of the car??
|
That's going to look great, Barry. Keep us updated on your progress please.
|
Interesting I think that 347 power plant would like to stay where it is and raced!!
:gitrdun: |
Looking forward to seeing this come together - very cool car
|

Wow, haven't seen an MGB decked out like that before. Pretty sick. Talk about power-to-weight. I look forward to following this build. Thanks for posting.
|
Sick! That's gonna be awesome!
What happened to Project 57??? Is that done now? That thing was sweet! |

Ok my wheels and mock up tires arrived .. I set them under the car.. yes they stick out a bit but remember they will move in about 2 inches when they sit on the hub right now they are up against the old lugs... you can also see my starting point for my gt..

I know I will need big flares but look at what they look like on the car here are some examples im thinking about... what do the masses think looks the best...
Modified Sebring Flares http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps4db6a27b.jpg Custom Flares... http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...pse3a438b8.jpg SpinWerks I belive ..more of a squared fender look.... http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...psc38da31c.jpg These are 240Z flares but they come in 3 inch wide version... http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps127dc596.jpg |
The Sebring or custom photos look good.
Have you seen the guy that split his MG down the middle and widened it 7" ? That is another good way to go but quite a bit more work. The Z flares might work but they aren't that attractive in that particular photo, I don't think they could cover nearly as much tire properly either. |
I like the sebring flares in both pics of the first post on this thread! They seem a little more integrated than the last options.
|
widened Sebring flares!
That will be a fun little rocketship..... |
Yea I think the Sebring look is the winner.. now to find the rear flares first....
|
Dec 2013 update .. teardown begins... its amazing what you find once panels start to come off.. yes she needs some metal work .. I was perpared for that...

Next the engine and tranny .. then the interior....

I can't believe I just now saw this. I have a '64.5 MGB Roadster sitting in pieces in the garage. There's something about old British cars that I just love.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Personally, I am going to do a turbo 4 cylinder in mine, but how can you resist a v8? Love it. |
Ok quick update I have been gathering parts for the build and finishing up some other projects..I just ordered my Sebring flare kit from Preform Resources . Dave the owner is a great guy, and worked with me on some ideas i had... here is a pic of the kit installed on another MGB GT....

That's a nice looking kit.
|
Ok so here`s a March 2014 update... wile working on the first MGB GT i found out rust had invaded the rockers , so I decided to find a new shell, pa-rousing the local craigs list netted me a sweet deal on a very clean shell, she is now sitting in my garage stripped down and waiting for the flares to be installed.. which just arrived yesterday .. so pics are coming........
