Weekend Trivia
The word of what we do has been getting out locally to the 17 (!) different car clubs in the somewhat small secluded city of St George, Utah, so we've been working on a few hot rods here and there amongst all the pro-touring cars that we see come and go in the shop. Here's one that came in recently...
Can anyone guess what it is? http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...ps71ccd134.jpg |
Im thinking 48 Fleetline but that tail light is throwing me...I usually see them frenched.
|
I was just gonna say 46-48 fleet line too.

46-47 Poncho?
|
Pontiac's had round taillights and no bumper risers.
|
I'm thinking 46-48 Buick Super but the triple chrome trim plates running along the side is confusing. :headscratch:
|
Pontiac went round a bit later on the tail lights but they also had a flatter wheel opening on the rear.
I'm changing my answer to mid/late 40's GM! :popcorn2: Either way its good to see you guys are being "accepted" in the neighborhood. Dan |
Nope. 46-48 Buick is off. I'm curious to find out what it is. Looks great.
|
It's a 1947 Chevrolet 2 door Coupe Fleetline Fastback :)

Huh, wha?... oh sorry I had to take a little beauty nap, lol!
Well you guys nailed it. Good to see that you guys dig the old stuff as well as the g machines. Well, the owner told us it was a '48 Chevy Fleetline. He said all the trim on the car was original. For now, we'll go with what he said but based on what you guys said it sure makes me curious. A local guy on our facebook page also called it a '47 and I think he may know the car's history, he's really connected around here, so that makes me even more curious. I really like the old stuff, but having been born in '70, muscle cars are my gig so I'm not up to speed on the fine details of the fat fendered and earlier cars. Here's a couple more shots. The owner picked it up Friday afternoon, with a big grin because the car turns and rides the way it's supposed to after the suspension reconfiguration. Not much of a pro touring car but it's the roots that got us all where we are today. It sports a beautiful small block Chevy with G body front suspension and a Nova 12 bolt rear axle. The color is a beautiful shade of Burnt Orange metallic with an off white roof with the same metallic in it. Really nice ride. Now, back to the Camaros and Chevelles in the shop... http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...psbd6aa0b1.jpg http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf87c7ac.jpg |
