Project Chaos: 1973 TA and 1969 Camaro
1 Attachment(s)
I'm relatively new to the site and love it. Great info and ideas with plenty of support when needed. Our projects are a 69 Camaro and 1973 Trans Am. The 69 Camaro has an LSX454 going in w/TKO600. We chose Ridetech's suspension pieces and Rushforth Livewire wheels. A lot has gone into the car the last few years and we are a couple months away from getting it back on the road. The pic is at the GoodGuys Lonestar Spring Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway. Attachment 43412
Our 1973 Trans Am is a new project and brand new to us. It is an original white on white car w/55k miles that received the total pro touring treatment by the team at Carbon Kustoms. The car is currently at West Bend Dyno in Wisconsin getting the finishing touches before we take delivery. We are looking forward to getting this car out on the track and to a number of events in 2014. I need to get some pics loaded up. Glad to be a part of Lateral-g!:newbie: |
Great pair of cars. Welcome to the site!

Thanks Jody! We look forward to being a part of the site.

Here is a pic of the 69 Camaro project progress.
Attachment 43413 Pulled the 383 and removed the subframe. Found a crack in the shock mount weld. Decided to remove the subframe, fix the weld, clean it up and send it out for powder coating. Smoothing the firewall begins this week. |

The LSX454 fresh out of the crate. Using LS7 intake, coils, ECM and throttle assembly. Installing a Street & Performance front drive assembly. Dynatech headers. Waiting on the intake assembly. The one I ordered from GMPP was mis boxed and did not have the fuels rails and throttle body. They are replacing it but costing me a week on engine assembly. Good news is there is plenty to do so not too worried about it. |

Brian at Carr's Corvettes and Customs inverted the DSE wiper motor and mounted it under the front fender, totally hidden off the firewall. |

The latest addition to our garage. We have quite a list of changes, mostly cosmetic, a few safety items and small mechanical stuff but this car is simply bad a$$! Thanks Albert! We are honored to be the new owners of you Project Warhorse. |

I love wraps because you can change the look of the car DRAMATICALLY for modest money, compared to a paint job. Plus they are easy to make repairs from "off road excursions" on track days. . |
You sure have 2 very nice cars, really like both of them, good luck and keep pics coming:thumbsup:

Ron, we contemplated keeping the wrap and finally decided to remove it. Check out the carbon fiber bird on the hood.
Attachment 43421 Tubbed69...appreciate the comment. Your 69 is pretty damn awesome. I've looked through the thread a few times. I tip my hat to you for the level of skill and craftsmanship in your build. |
Welcome Jay.
Congrats on the purchase... I think a lot of us would couple a '69 Camaro with a '70-'73 TA. |
Thanks Skip! Need to get them done and then drive em.

You already have the picture thing down and your off to a great start. |
Vince, we did purchase Albert's bird. It has been a real pleasure getting to know him and more people in the Lateral-g community. Look for more updates. We have some great plans for the car.

This is a bada$$ picture from 2012 SEMA. Albert and his team built a killer car. We are hoping to get some project pics up soon of the interior refresh. Adding a roll bar. Reconditioning the leather and painted surfaces. |
Welcome to the board sir. Love both cars. I'm right up the road from you here in southeast Dallas.
|
Thanks for the welcome 214chevelle. You have a really nice Chevelle. Hope to see you at an event or two.

73 TA Roll Bar Installation Update
5 Attachment(s)
Received some updates from the team at West Bend Dyno today. The project is going slower than I wish but the holidays and PRI have been priorities. Hard to argue with that. :gitrdun:
Brad and team have been hard at work fabricating the roll bar for the 73 TA. Check out the updated pics... Attachment 44036 Attachment 44037 Attachment 44038 Attachment 44039 Attachment 44040 |
New shoes for the Camaro!
I ordered new tires for the Camaro today. I went with the Dunlop Direzza Zii's! I wish the Rivals came in 19" diameter. My wheel diameter choice left me with few options for a 200 treadwear tire.
They are supposed to be in this week. 255/35r18 fronts 275/35r19 rears |
love the carbon bird contrast. superb

73 TA Carbon Fiber Hood Decal
Thnks man! It is freakin sweet...and real carbon fiber. All the credit goes to Albert Melchior of Carbon Kustoms. This 73 was his creation. This car, Project Warhorse, was his test bed for the companies products.
He had the hood decal cut out so the inside of the image would have the CF hood show through. Brilliant idea. There are so many small details on this car. We cannot wait to get further along in the project, post more pics, and see it come together. :headspin: |

Good to see some progress too. Not easy being a big kid around Christmas sometimes, huh Jay? :D |
you are not kidding Skip. Special shout out to you for suggesting and assisting in moving the thread to the Project Updates section. I appreciate the help.
