That Chubby spanked him! I'd like to know what bike he was on.........somewhat an embarrassment to the race. :D

This bike is set up very close to mine (no internal motor mods)........that's about all the little 990 cc v-twin's got to move the 400 lbs + rider.

intocarss 12-16-2013 03:27 PM

I just love it when a car beats a bike. OR in this case.. SMOKES IT!!:waveflag:

Simmo 12-16-2013 03:34 PM

Looks like a SV650, all 65hp of glory. No surprises there :secret:

Superduke FTW!

Reminds me of when SW and I were headed to the restaurant --- in his twin turbo Ferrari -- he jumps on it not knowing there was a bike along side… next thing you know the bike is jumping on it and just gets SMOKED… WE got a good laugh out of that 'cause we weren't even aware of the bike!

The '57 was pretty fast regardless of what bike that was.

I sold my '56 to a buddy who is going to run it at BJ in January -- I was texting with him on Sunday 'cause he was under it cleaning with a Q-tip… and I asked if he'd driven it much… and he's saying -- yeah -- and that it was powerful as hell and launches straight as an arrow… (which I already knew of course)… And about how some new SRT challenged him and he wasted the guy (they're not quick or fast - in fact having owned one - they suck).

For whatever reason -- guys always think the "old cars" are still running around with 283's in them. HA!

WSSix 12-16-2013 04:52 PM

Man that 57 can move. It's not easy to beat a bike from a dig like that even if it is just an SV650. I sure hope it's a 650 anyway. It could have been a 1000 but those aren't slow. Just don't wheelie either one.

glassman 12-16-2013 08:13 PM

Yep ^^^^, that fitty7 hooked up. He was just gone. Love to see that up against the Katoomer (KTM super duke 990). A lot of people think bikes are all that and a box of crackers, but power and puttin it down are two different animals. Like to see them try that against a modded 'busa as well...(Suzuki Hayabusa, build for goin straigt)

That was my thought, any respectable 750/1000 cc wouldn't have been that embarrassing.

From legit tests and other sources a bike modded like my SDR should run 10.3ish in the 1/4 with a 180 lb rider.

Showing my retentiveness here, but note the absence of a clutch master cylinder = 650. Thou's are hydraulic clutch

Against a 'real' bike...

....one thing I know from experience, it'll hurt less in the Civic or McLaren

Yes, one of about 78 bikes that KTM sold to private parties, the other 22 or so went to misc. race teams in the US. They only brought them into the US in '08.

Here's an old video where that I was hanging back in an attempt to film my buddy in the orange suit.......that's when I leaned that 6' from the guy in front of you looks like a mile with a go pro camera.

Stuart Adams 12-18-2013 03:46 AM

Wow, cool stuiff. KTM is awesome stuff, I have a dirt bike, but always loved these bikes also.

snappytravis 12-18-2013 07:46 AM

According to another post the car has a 572 with a procharger, I raced a Yamaha V-max in my 09 viper punched it about 60 and about 120 he had so many car lengths on me I could not count them. I had to re evaluate my definition of fast.:gitrdun:

You're correct, Chris. It's been a number of years since I have had an SV so I forgot to even look for the hydraulic clutch.

Travis, the V-max is a very fast bike in a straight line. They are very unassuming since they look like cruisers but they move out as fast as inline four sport bikes. I'm not surprised you had issues against one.

+1. Like how the '57 was sideways for a bit.

Nice riding Sieg!

Looks like fun... I've always admired the guys that road raced bikes... no margin for error on a bike

ABS and Traction control too (adds to the weight a little bit).

I don't know that the ABS is a huge + on track, but the TC is impressive. I was trying to stay on the heels of a local superbike guy on one but he'd just walk away from me on corner exit....yeah okay, and most of the rest of the track too - but just to a lesser extent. I was riding a similar powered pre-TC ZX10

I'd watch the guy just grab a handful and off he'd go.

Wow, that will getr dun.

Black93GT 12-19-2013 12:36 PM

Mad Max's Mille. That would certainly haul.
Used to love trading bikes with a good friend who had a Mille.

You made me want to look up the dry weight on my 05 and 06 GSX-R 1000's... listed at 365. Guess they're dated and old fashioned without the fancy abs and traction control.

Problem with the Japanese bikes "listed" weights is they typically lie big like today's politicians. :D
