Hello

I was a while since my last uppdate.
The car is going to the painter the 20 february. Give or take a week.

I am going to paint it in a variation of brilliant candy orange.

Like this link but the painter is going to work his magic and make it pop even more. And a little more red.

http://www.sporthoj.com/forum/attach...3&d=1199649660

SS stripes in black but with a little orange candy to make it blend a little.

What do you think?

Robert

r.friborg 02-01-2008 01:58 PM

Bad link fixed.

Any input?

Congrats on getting to the paint stage. Many here wish they were that far along on their projects - ME included !

Looking forward to seeing the paint in the car.

My car is finally painted.
The color is sick but its wery hard to catch it in photo.
We have painted the entire car in a high gloss red the we sand it smoth.
After that we spray a special blend based on a corse silver metalic with orange and red candy. It is a little transparent and because of that it is wery deeeeeep. You can se a hint of the first red layer:thumbsup: .
On top 6 layers of clear with wet sandings in betwene.

More people from Sweden?

I think the problem will be the parts that is missing and I don´t know it yet.
Because I am shooting quit high with the finish on the car It will take a little longer than It should I think.
And because I order my parts from USA an usualy have to wait 6-10weeks for delivery the time passes by very fast.

By the way I also love the color, the pics don´t put the color as nice as it is.
My goal is to put it on display on Elmia Custom motorshow in Easter time 2009. That is my deadline

I have lived in the US for 14 years now. I'm from Ostergotland originaly.
I'm about to start building my own Camaro again. have only had new cars for a while. (corvettes, T/A etc. so not to bad) I now have a 2005 Pontiac GTO that is for sale if anyone is interested. Why does it take you 6-10 weeks to get parts from the US. (if not the postal service of course) I can get stuff over to Europe in less then 2 weeks normally.

OK.
I can get it in about a week with air freight sometimes even faster. Summit is very fast, but that is expensiv with bigger things.
When I say 6-10weeks I mean by boat.
And it is always closer to ten than 6.
And now it is even worse because of the dollar is so low.
And often I experiense that the freight time in The US to the harbor can take long time. Up to 1,5 week I have experiensed in soem cases.

Good luck with the camaro build.

tgvettes 06-13-2008 07:35 PM

yeah by boat of course makes sense that it takes a while.

The brand i Deber i think.
It is a special blend. This is a one of a kind and the recipei is closly guarded:D
I think I have writen a bit about it earlier in the thread. But I can take it again.

We base it on a coarse metallic silver. Then a lot of orange candy and a little of red candy. But the secret really is in the painters fine craftsman ship and attention to detail.

r.friborg 06-22-2008 01:18 PM

I have started to asemble the car. :woot:
A quick review of the subframe recipe.

Guldstrand mod
Bilstein shcokansorbers
polyurethan bushings
solid subfarme bushings in aluminuim that lowers half of an inch
Hotchkiss springs
Al new joints
Solid hylsa till styrstag istället för den pressade
weld in subfarme connectros construckted by me.

And some more.

What we have soundwise is a slotported box for twin dd 8" wooers driven by a german Amipre 2kw competition amp.
In fron a Dls system driven by twin macrom synthesis 1000 evo amps.

Engine wise it is a budget build for now. It is awaiting a ls*** build.
The engine is based around a ****y van 87 engine.
New cam and home brewn heads.
And some more fixes. Around 300hp
