Rendering
3 Attachment(s)
Here are a few shots of the Rendering that Kris did for me. Let me know what you guys think.
Specs: 67 Camaro 383 SB with Tunnel ram TKO 5 speed narrowed 12 bolt with DSE min tub (done by Vince @ Meanstreets PErformance.) 17 x 11, 17 x 8 Budnik shadow ss wheels, 245, 315 tires DSE Front upper and lowers, spring, sway bar, QA1 shocks. Trans Am spoiler, Le Sabre mirrors Future plans call for converting manifold to Fuel Injection. |
Freakin saweeet! Nice color combo, the tomato red stripe is a little much for me though. I'd like to see it with either a silver or more subtle red stripe.

Don't care much for the red stripe or the tunnel ram sticking out of the hood......hope you wanted honest opinions
|
car
do you have a mullet??? lol jk, looks great but the air horns are a bit much imo
|
Just being honest........What is different about this camaro than the other ones he has rendered besides color and wheels
still looks good! |
With a hinged hood the opening in front of the stacks for the tunnel ram would probally have to be opened up alot to clear that lip on the swing and might lend a little to the unattractive side with the big gap. a lift off would work but a sure PITA

Radlark, I guess that's a problem you run into when so many people are building Camaros. You can only do a Camaro so many ways without getting into some serious spending. Kris |

I'm no designer but I probably would have just done red guts and maybe everyones favorite....red brake calipers to tie in the engine compartment color or repsray the engine compartment the color I wanted it! |
Thanks for the honest opinions..it is not everyones cup of tea.
I painted the engine the red color, and it is assembled with all the accesories, and has been run. Didnt want to take it all apart to repaint. Trying tie it together. I cut a small hole in the hood, just big enough for the stacks. I will have to remove the stacks to open the hood. That way I can keep the hole small. |
looks good but the wing spoiler looks to import,i would run a regular camaro spoiler.
|
Nice renderings. Lose the stacks. It gives it that 80's look. Other than that it's a sweet ride.
|
I agree im not a fan of the stacks Other than that it probuly would be cool ..............IMO

Or if the red stripe is truely a "necessary evil", double up the pinstripes by adding a black one next to it to knock the intensity down. Is the top color black or graphite metallic? I'm just sorta brainstorming out loud....the car's gonna look awesome either way. Nice job, as usual, Kris! |
Good idea on the brake calipers. If Mike's interested, I can always change it for him too.
I think you need to get your monitor calibrated though, the top is a dark silver, not even close to black. Glad you dig it though and thanks for the critique. Kris |
my monitor must need calibration too....I looked at the pics twice and just now the 3rd time saw that the car was two toned......Now I will agree the stripe is a must have even if I dont agree 100% with the colors.....
|
Wow, seriously??? Man your monitors must be way off! It's not mine because I'm looking at them on another computer right now and they look the same.
Kris |
I like the paint, not sure about rear spoiler, but the stacks need to go. As mentioned before, too 80's for me.
Oh, Kris, reshim the passenger door, does not line up right. :lolhit: |
looks good man , if your happy thats all that matters !
I like it , for a minute i thought we were on PT , lol !!! come on guys , keep it nice |
I like the stacks, before seeing the pics I read some responses and I impulsively thought I too would not like them. After seeing the pics, I LIKE IT. Old School with New School sometimes looks good.

Yes a little old, and a little new.
The stripe color needs to be bold, otherwise it blended into the other colors. We tried a darker color shade, but it blended to the other colors. I am going to try a test panel before applying to the car to see how it all looks in person. Yes I do like it, the spoiler and tunnel ram are things I liked, and to add a little difference to the car. We must admit, they all start looking the same. I knew everyone wouldnt like it. Not a problem. Thanks for your opinions. |
What I really liked about it was the silver/burgandy two tone color combo and I like the two tone line. It brings out the best in the lines of the 67. The Firebird spoiler makes it a little different than the other camaros. As for the stacks, they don't do much for me but I guess that is personal preference. Overall, a striking car.

I like the colors and the spoiler, but have never been big on things sticking out of the hood (no matter what they are). Nice work :) .

Love it!!!! Don't change a thing.Bitchin' colors and stacks. Good luck with the build. Larry. ;)

You're right Kris, my home monitor is much brighter...it's definitely a medium silver...gotta fix my work monitor!! :D |

True, I know what you're saying, but then again all 67 Camaros externally the same other than a few aesthetic options like the RS package.
|
Cool two-tone camaro!
It seems like you've gotten a lot of negative feedback. I personally like the car, especially the two-tone paint scheme. All that matters is that you like it. I say go for it! It looks bad ass!
Shawn |
Two tone paint schemes are very tough but look incredible if the right combo is chosen. Chosing a single color is difficult but when you add another color it has to look good AND match the other color.
|
I would narrow the stripe down to a pin stripe. That way is does't pull your eyes from the rest of the car and still ties in the engine compartment.
Mike |
Dude, I like the different look to it. What it looks like you are doing is keeping some of your favorite aspects from the past and blending them with the now... I think it goes well and is not to over the top. Good luck on your build cant wait to see the real thing.
|
Thanks everyone, for the "I like it", and the I dont like it" comments. I do like it, and am trying to build it that way. In the end I only have to please me.
I will look into thinning down the stripe to make it less noticeable, that is a good idea. Thanks Mike. I will post some pictures in about a month to show the progress it is in. |
I like the tunnel ram poking thru the hood. It's different and thats really important. I hardly even stop to look that closely at alot of 1st gens, esp. 69's anymore. So to see someone doing something unique is refreshing, I say go for it.
