1967 corvette Aluminum 18 degree sbc tko 600 Wilwood Manual brakes and Hydraulic Clutch master cylinder Ridetech coilovers etc. the rest tbd. this is what I'm starting with. Was a 4 speed 427BB. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps36e5e6f8.jpg made this aluminum plate to stiffen the firewall for the clutch master cylinder. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9d35eafb.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...psf2690b7e.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps101e185a.jpg |

Looks like a real nice car to start with Mike.
Suspension plans yet? I'm still toying with building front stuff from scratch. Very nice. Subscribed. |

Looking forward to this build. I have a 66 coupe that I hope to build once I finish a 68 Charger I am building for a friend. Hoping to keep it to bolt on mods since I don't want to cut on it. Are you planning any body mods? Hard to get a lot of tire under these without them.

Yeah I'll be flaring the fenders it looks like. Can't get much under the rear without. That could be fun drifting...lol

I see you got your TKO from American Power Train - any reason you you added the reinforcement plate over what they had? I'm not too familiar w/ the C2 firewall.
My 78 has sheet metal sandwiched with fiberglass, and it's pretty close to the pedal reinforcement box, which is bolted to the firewall and birdcage in two different spots. Not quibbling - curious for my own learning and also nervous about whether or not I should do one. :) |
Now those are some serious flares. Looks sweet
|
The car is looking great. Keep the updates coming.
|
the firewall had a lot of flex when mounted to the firewall. The stock firewall isn't made for a hydraulic clutch and I don't think the reinforcement plate was enough.

Awesome.Looks like the Ride Tech Install went in great.GL at your first event w/it.

Took her to Good guys Indy last weekend. The Vette was faster then me. Thanks Bret, Brit, Greg and everyone at Ridetech for helping me get it there and for the great products. I was overwhelmed with how good it handled. I had Jim McKamey take it for a run for experienced feedback and I learned real quickly what the Vette was capable of. Now to get some more time behind the wheel. Hopefully I get my Rushforth Wheels in time For Columbus so I can fill out those Big Ugly Flares.

Those flares are awesome, definitely not ugly! Glad you got to enjoy the project. I'm sure it will only get better and better.
|
Looks good. I saw you run at Indy and the car looked great. Can't wait to see it with the new wheels.

Do you like your manual brake setup? Thanks
|
That's a cool car!
|
Yes I'm happy with the manual brakes. It took alittle while to get used to it since I had power brakes in my other car but I'm starting to get a feel for the car.
